protip - not made in Byron Bay

Most byron bay branded things stop being made in byron bay as soon as they get some sort of popularity.
Also Byron bay is becoming more and more consumed by "alternative medicine/healing" businesses.

It was always consumed by alternative healing crap…. The beer came later… Arrived with the hipsters… Been living here 25 years… Still don't drink the local beers. Over priced cats piss… Or over priced kiddie pop beer (stone and wood)

Correction… I live near Byron Bay… No one wants to actually live there…. But I'll admit. Lock down has made the place bearable…

          • @Blagaholic: I live near byron too.
But it is a lot worse than it was and is also going to get worse.
Pete evans (master chef judge) is planning on starting up an alternative healing business there as well as several other people.

I remember it being a dairy & banana farming district in the 70's.

    • Not many businesses want to pay sky high leases out there.

"not made in Byron Bay"….like everything else with "Byron Bay" on it.

whether it's made in byron bay or not, it still taste like piss water. I rather save $20 and buy mineral water!

I love the reviews on Dan Murphy's that you're generally better off with Corona. Those reviews haven't aged well.

      • +1

You are still better off with corona. Either version.

    • Thanks for your sacrifice.

  • Don't waste any money on this one. Even at $20/case, you're still behind tap water (which tastes better). This beer has to be one of the worst out there. It's like the brewer gave up all hope.

I would add that VB, Carlton Draught tastes fuller, better than this. That said, at $20 a case, it's an ok deal - better than Aldi Rivet at $25 (?).

      • Haha, you've gone through my previous comments and found my love of Rivet! Honestly, Byron isn't worth the Carbs.

Have a couple of six packs of this stuff, confused it with another product. It's not as bad as what everyone else is saying; it doesn't have an offending taste. The issue is that it doesn't really have any taste at all as if it's watered down.

Can't go wrong at $20/case though. I'd buy a few.

Agree. I don't know about this beer specifically but a "tasteless" lager definitely has a place, especially on hot days, and especially at $20/case.
