ALDI Activ Rechargeable Batteries - Do They Still Sell Them

First time poster.. I couldnt find the Aldi rechargeable Activ brand batteries the other day when I was there. The cashier was rather rude and just said if they are not here we dont have them. Can anyone confirm that they are still sold? They are normally just before the register.

  • Yes, they have them, near register.

    • And if they rant there we pro don't have any.

Seriously though apply context that staff member has likely had that question about half the store for 2 months now, you would get gruff too.

      • All good, I've found that size availability vary from store to store, AAAs were the hardest to get for my stores. I usually just enter the store and check near the registers to see if they have any… (prior to entering the cattle yard that is Aldi when it's busy :) ). Aldimobile sim cards can be difficult to get too sometimes

  • I hadn't seen them in months until last Saturday, where I managed to pick a 4 pack of AA's. They had AAA's available too in a small box.

  • I've seen them pre-COVID19 and most likely still selling them. Be careful, I noticed some packets have old manufactured dates. Not sure if that's something to look out for.

Thanks, Ill try again at another store. Hopefully they have stock. These are great batteries for my remotes and LED work lights.

    • If you cant find them, get ladda from ikea.

      • Ikea are a ripoff now…their batteries are nearly 3 times the price of Aldi and Coles!

        • Ikea's have been the most reliable for me.

I've had no luck with the other two. Coles rechargeables leak. Aldi's felt damp or a bit sticky after running them in a smart charger.

I got some about 2 weeks ago but i had to reach in behind the sneeze glass at the register to get them. There were AA and AAA there (Gawler, SA).

As others have said they'll be at the register, I got a packet of AAA from Roselands in Sydney.

That said, I'm not that impressed. They're rated 800mAh (old ones were 900mAh) and an initial test they only scored 600mAh. Hmmm. They feel rather light…

I also got a pack of the glitter AA, they're fine.

  • Some of the best value rechargeables you could get, when they were still available, just an update from this part of the country (Western metro and ballarat) haven't been able to buy them since somewhere in 2019, would've been the last time I got some I think. And then slowly every store I went to, they started disappearing until none of them had it, and didn't get any more in. Most staff didn't have any idea why they were not being restocked, but one did mention something along the lines of there may have been a supply issue or going through a redesign process and should eventually be back. But then months went by and still nothing, asked more and got an answer at one store that they don't think they will be getting them at all anymore.

I still haven't found any since and its been a couple of years now, so probably time to move on lol, sucks cause I would just get a pack every time I went to build up a good collection, and didn't get anywhere near enough that I wanted to :(
