    Isn't the S20 4g still $900 or so on the Education Portal? Makes absolutely no sense to get this over that for the same money….

    Trust me, for $800-900, you're better off looking for a deal on a current or previous year flagship.

          Yeah looks like most of the cost increase is due to the 5G modem. Standard 4g model of A71 is out of stock atm.

      I believe so. I bought an A70 in Sep 2019, and it's already 3 gens old… A70s, A71 and now A71 5G. The A70 isnt even a year old and doesn't even have the latest version of Android in Australia.

    Unfortunately, $899 - $50 is very expensive for a mid-range 5G phone. As others have mentioned, the S20 4G and 5G can be purchased on EPP for not much more.

    A90 5G OR Oppo Reno 5G is the better buy for midrange 5G. This is too expensive.

      Price has gone down for both phones (A71 5G & A31). Please note that is an 8GB version NOT 6GB like standard A71 4G
