On sale is the little brother of Xiaoxin Pad Pro that delivers far better performance than the Lenovo M11 for lower price. While this deal is on the 6GB/128GB variant, there are 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB variants available on the listing. I'd recommend grabbing the CN ROM version too, as the Global ROM likely has an unlocked bootloader with no updates, Netflix HD etc.

Featuring ZUI 16 (Android 14), 11" 90Hz 2560x1600 IPS display with up to 500nits brightness, 6GB or 8GB RAM, 128GB or 256GB UFS 2.2 storage (microSD card support), MediaTek Dimensity 6300 octa-core CPU (better than G99), 7040mAh battery with 20W PD fast charging, Widevine L1 DRM for Netflix HD, quad-speakers with Dolby Atmos, 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, WiFi 2.4GHz/5Ghz, Bluetooth 5.4 and GPS.

This is a good option for media streaming thanks to Widevine L1 and the 11" display, light to mid gaming + emulation and general usage.

  • Apply the coupon AUSS22 at checkout

AU$ based on current Mastercard rate at time of posting and GST inclusive.

To enable Google Play, go to Settings > App Management > 3 dots top right > Google Basic Services > Turn on.
Then download Google Play from the Application Center or sideload an apk yourself.

For those paying in USD this is how you get the correct exchange rate in PayPal:

AliExpress trade in USD and the ~ before the AUD price in the deal means about or roughly. Setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results in an inflated rate. To get the correct rate you need a card without international fees and do the following:

  • Set the website currency to USD
  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
  • Proceed with checkout

Now you'll get the correct MasterCard or VISA exchange rate.

  • Any idea if this has HDMI out?

    • Cant see from the pictures or description?

      • +1

I did look but I do have a habit of missing things

    • +1

No HDMI out. So became a hard pass

      • +1

Can't you just use a USB-C to HDMI cable?

        • +2

No display out through through the USB c is what they mean

          • @Dan24: It's type c 2.0 so it should have it

            • +1

@astarman: It does not support display out, 2.0 does not mean it's supported or not. The MediaTek Dimensity 6300 does not support display out via usb c.

  • +1

Damn if only i didnt buy teclast ….

    • +2

Teclast is junk. Slow. Regret it.

  • better for gaming than my current phone … tempting, and it’s a size that would make watching movies on other than TV or laptop viable.

  • Any downsides to choosing CN ROM?

    • +4

Not everything is 100% English. Discussion here

    • +1

Can have some notifications pop up in chinese text but from what i can see this can be disabled. I believe the inherent internet browser is in chinese? But why would you use that anyways just download chrome or firefox etc…

The phones own app store is in chinese but you just need that to download the play store. Which is all english.

  • Are there any 9" (or so) tablets that are cheap like this?

Any of the local ones are $250+ for ancient, ultra-budget, tech.

Edit - I've looked too, all I find are brandless ones (or a weirdly expensive yet average lenovo one)

    • The Y700 is the only decent "cheap" tablet imo.

The aldocube are cheaper at arou d $200 but they've got shoddy build and quality.

      • So smaller tablets are just more expensive, regardless of performance haha?

        • Just no one wants them except gamers and iPad minis. There isn't a market for them because most people watch tv on tablets

  • Thanks, bought one to see if the 11 inch form factor is suitable for my needs

  • Last time I compared AUD to USD on Aliexpress I was better off using AUD, was I dreaming? I use Wise Debit, which is no foreign currency conversion fees.

Also what's the logic in paying via PayPal when you can just pay directly via the card? Is it because of PayPal return insurance or another benefit? Ali's return policy has been decent of late.

Lastly, what's the usual price for this tablet?

  • Anyone have any keyboards or covers that fit this device? Ideally a cover that doubles as both ala surface devices

  • hey guys is it worth gettng the global rom? or is it easy to get rid of the chinese. from reading this and other posts, you cannot get rid of everything. I plan on using it just for the usual english apps, chrome, youtube netflix, stan etc…

    • This is fine - just read the discussion in previous deals, after you install Google Play store ensure you get all the Google language related apps and properly configure them. I had a hard time getting voice to text working properly - even after all the permissions were given "Speech Recognition and Synthesis from Google" was the one that got that working fine.

You will still get the very odd menu or bit in Chinese……but generally it's only in very niche stuff and can be worked around easily enough.

This is still a cracking deal so don't be put off. But that first hour of changing over to English can be frustrating so factor that in. :-)

  • whys there 2 options of 6gb/128gb global rom and no cn rom?

  • Hope the Xiaoxin Pad Plus goes on sale soon, really need one for my Home Assistant dashboard.

    • This screen size isn't big enough for HA?

    • +2

Im looking at this for a home assistant dash too - why are you waiting for a Plus out of curiosity? I would have thought the dash tablet doesnt need to be anything special

      • I prefer the Plus 12.7” because it has a matte display that reduces glare in my bright kitchen
And it fits the 3D-printed wall mount I already have for the P12.

  • So the GPS in one of these can be used for offline maps navigation in an app like ExplorOZ?

  • I got two of the 2022 version of this a couple of years go, from that same, store for my kids. Paid $199 each at the time, and that was a bargain. The 2022 version is a 10.5 inch. You need to get yeah CN rom to be sure to have all the advertised features like Widevine L1, and 90hz.

In china these tablets are aimed at kids, so they come loaded up with features like games corner, study mode, etc. Also lots of kids-friendly protective cases available on AliExpress for them too.

    • can you swap the roms by installing either CN OR Global?

so the CN rom is best but it will be in chinese..
and changing the language to english will still have chinese somewhere in the UI?

  • 6GB 128GB CN ROM

Don't see that option - both 6gb versions are Global rom. The only CN ROM is the 8gb/128gb.

    • Bugger they've sold out.

  • Can china rom be installed over the global rom

  • Took a chance and got the global for $159

  • I'd recommend grabbing the CN ROM version too, as the Global ROM likely has an unlocked bootloader with no updates, Netflix HD etc.

CN ROM has already been sold out. If you buy a global ROM, you will not receive Android updates at all?

    • +1

Based on past experiences yes. I really don't know until someone gets their hands on and sees if it's flashed officially or done dodgy.
