Barbecue Suggestions Wanted - Budget $1000

Hello

We are planning on buying a BBQ for our home. Could you pour in some suggestions which one to buy!
Budget :: $1000 (roughly)

Husband wants side burner, temp gauge in addition to routine stuff. We wanted something durable which will last few years.

Cheers!

    or 6 burner

if it was me I'd just get the Family size Weber Q though. Although no side burner

    • I like the beefmaster range. Have had one for a few years now and is excellent. Much better than my WeberQ

  • Weber Q or Weber Spirit II.

Any particular reason for a side burner?

    • for stir fries.. shomanship haha .. how much he will do god knows but…

      • I'd just go a Weber Q.

  • How many people would you usually cook for?
How many times/week would you BBQ?
What types of food would you usually BBQ?
Do you prefer gas, or electric, or wood/briquette?
    Do you intend to rotisserie?

    • How many people would you usually cook for? — depends generally for 3 but when friends over for around 10 ppl
How many times/week would you BBQ?— once
What types of food would you usually BBQ?— chicken , lamb, char grilling veges,..etc
Do you prefer gas, or electric, or wood/briquette? —GAS
Do you intend to rotisserie?—- not sure…probably not

      • I have a Weber Q2000 and can easily meet those requirements. I have 6 burner BBQ that I never use since it is too hard to clean.

For your budget, you can get Q3100 specialist range with the stand. You need to decide to go with LPG or natural gas, I recommend LPG unless you already have gas line available.

      • +1

Thanks, now people can give some relevant suggestions.
For non-Weber, I would go with 4-burner only. That should be plenty of cooking room without taking up your whole backyard / patio.
I think there is only one Weber with a side-burner; it looks pretty big and is at the top of your budget. Worth it?
The Weber family is pretty big for 3 people, but they are great to use and easy to clean.
Cooking for 10 is your only challenge, but it might not be too often?, and you can just cook in stages anyway.

  • Weber. Don't waste time/money with anything else

  • Weber Family Q Premium (with the temp gauge) - you won't look back, or miss the side burner!

  • Weber is good and robust.

Ziegler and Brown looks nice and bit cheaper but is no where near as durable.

  • Webber Family Q Premium (with the temp gauge). + all the bits, roasting rack, pizza stone, fry pan etc
    /thread

  • Alternative to Weber is Everdure. Mine (pre Heston model) has taken some beating and still runs perfectly after 5 years now. Doesn't cost much either. I have portable gas cooker for side burner if I need one. I would probably buy a cheap charcoal kettle as next purchase so I can try smoking my meat.

  • Any comment son —https://www.bunnings.com.au/matador-4-burner-titan-hooded-bbq-with-side-burner_p3180873

  • Any suggesstions where to Buy the weber from..a ny deals???

We have had a Ziegler for 3 years now and it has always delivered! Unlike the Weber, you can put one side on rather than the whole BBQ. Deals on this are rare but I'm sure given the current economic conditions, a sale will pop up somewhere.

  • Weber q

  • Weber Family Q, with the high-lid for doing roasts. Very versatile, you can buy the trivet and it turns into a convection oven. Pizza stones, etc.

    https://www.weber.com/AU/en/barbecues/weber-q-range/family-q…

Nothing else compares in that price range.

Forget Bunnings, etc, they're all garbage.

Once you get a Weber, you'll never touch another brand.

  • Guys thanks for the suggestions

We finally bought weber spirit e320
    Hubby is supa excited. 😊
