30-60% off Everything at G-Star Online and in-Store (Excluding WA)

If you wisely skipped the 25% off from earlier this week, this is what you've been waiting for. G-Star Australia have entered into voluntary administration (because they can't pay the rent) and so everything's on sale.

From memory, WA stores are owned separately so they're exempt from the sale but sandgropers can still buy online.

Brilliant, this will come in really handy. Been eyeing on couple of jackets. Thanks OP

Looked through jeans/jackets there seems to be very little stock and/or size availability.

    • Depends greatly on size I'd suggest. I found plenty for myself.
Apparently they've just received a whole new shipment that are somewhere in there.

Well its pretty obvious why they went bust, who is paying $160 for a hoodie? Most of the stuff bar some of the jeans are still way overpriced even with the discount.

What are you comparing with? From my experience, they're pretty good quality clothes. As an OzBargainer, I'd hope you don't pay full price for anything in a hurry.

      • A lot of other retailers have come in the last few years and undercut these guys with decent designs and quality materials, they didn't pivot for the market and the masses aren't paying these prices anymore. They've pitched themselves at higher end market but the name just isn't there anymore.

I'm not negging the post as there is some deals but the majority is overpriced for what it is.

        • Can you provide some specifics? I'm genuinely interested

          • @cliener: Anything dude, unless you're buying Tommy, Polo, etc

            • @Roger Ramjet: I agree the quality overall has gone downhill. It used to be a brand recognised by younger people as being desirable and trendy. But once they pushed prices up and quality went down, people started shopping elsewhere.

@Roger Ramjet: If you're able to find clothes that (a) consistently fit and (b) look good, then that's great. For myself, I often struggle. G-Star have been great for me over the years - really haven't found much that compares in balance of fit, style, and quality.

Some comparisons I can think of off-hand (for men's clothing at least):
              * Ben Sherman: decent cut, reasonable fit but average quality for the price
              * Ted Baker: beautifully cut, reasonable fit, great quality, overpriced in Australia
              * Superdry: reasonable cut for the most part, fit is all over the place, decent qualilty
              * Carhartt: decent cut, reasonable fit, decent quality, bland design (but… that's their thing)

Thats cool man and im honestly happy for you, i know its hard to find style and fit sometimes and im not trying to bring you down or shame you for buying or wearing their stuff - my initial comment comes across a bit judgemental so apologies. I understand some people love this brand and i even know a guy who only wears their jeans, but for me and this is just my opinion formed through my own values (each to their own), i find their clothes and name lacking for the price they're asking. If they dropped 20-25%ish off of RRP it would be on my radar.

      • G-Star is pretty average quality IMO and all their stuff you have to size up about two sizes for it to fit properly. For jeans, Mavi, Nudie and Levi's are much better choics and can be had at very good prices on sale.

        • You have to size up because other clothes are designed for bigger people. If you’re slim it fits good

  • I imagine outlets would have some real bargains

They will throw extra 30% off on sales items soon.

    • Extra 30% then an extra 50% right towards the end. Managed to pickup some $200 jeans for about $40 last time.

  • Pretty infuriating, at last point its out of stock.
I go back to the product page, and it's showing in stock still.

Prices seem to be much worse than the outlet stores too

The more holes, the more expensive they seem to be.

Will be sad if we don’t have gstar stores on our retail lansdcape. But if they are stocked by djs and Myer it’s prob ok. I’m hoping it’s just like oroton, where it’s announced, gives the business a bit of hype for sales, then business as usual. Orotons voluntary administration announcement failed as everyone came out saying they weren’t surprised as overpriced and poor branding. Gstar I feel is great quality and nothing really compares so I don’t expect the same negative public response.

  • Decent prices, especially for reduced clearance items. Just placed an online order and will check out a store tomorrow.

I believe Stores should have some “hidden” stock given the rush-nature of clearance sales. If anyone visits a store please confirm!

  • WA survived?

    • Different owner. It's weird.

    • +2

      Yeah only Aussie stores affected

  • I dont see any discount …

  • lmao love gstar, but these prices are b.s still.
$91 for a basic hoodie after discount? lol

  • A shame. I've found G-Star the only source of tall leg jeans - leg length 36 and 38 with waist 36 and 38.

However a focus on skinny leg jeans at the expense of no loose styles has meant I have not purchased in a while.

If you are tall like me and have experience using a source other than G-Star for tall leg jeans please do comment.

  • Thanks, grabbed my regulars, much appreciated

So sad, G star is my go-to shop for all my jeans and t-shirts. I tried another brand but never fit properly. We will need to see if they gotta increase the discount just like last sale time.

    • G-Star is good for small sizes

  • I ordered some stuff 9 days ago from their 50% off outlet stock, haven't heard anything besides the original order email.
Hopefully they haven't done a runner with our money. Like other's have said, I wouldn't pay full price for their stuff but the jeans are good for $90-125 depending on how they fit. They were running out of the common sizes quickly it seemed.

Just noticed a banner saying outlet online now closed. My order is still 'in progress'

    Cheers,
