Works with your phone only. You'll need to get the chime as well if you want it to work as a ye olde doorbell.

If you’ve got older first gen arlo cameras (non-pro) they didn’t have audio, let alone two way audio. So you could repurpose one of those as the video part of the doorbell and use this for audio. Otherwise, yes, it’s not compelling.
Do you have to wait 90 seconds for the audio to come through?
