    No chance.

Yeah I'm with you on that. Just seems like you're loaning these guys $50 or so for a few days.

      • +4

a few days would be okay. Last time i tried to get a price error from First Choice Liquor they held my $45 for 7 weeks, numerous emails, phone calls, finally a PayPal dispute just to get the funds returned. After that experience i'm not going to even roll the dice on these price errors any more i dont think.

        • on Paypal checkout, my St George Debit card has got the “pay after delivery” option

        • You are doing it wrong mate. I am going to give merchants at most a week to reply me before a credit card dispute is on the way.

          • @truetypezk: Credit card dispute is not that easy to be solved quickly. Once I was incorrectly charged by cruise ship for on board expenses, charged an amount while invoice showed nil balance because I paid cash the night before getting off the ship. Rang cruise ship and was redirected to satellite line and was on hold for a long time then got cut off. Rang Westpac next day and was told I can NOT dispute this charge because we used the same credit card to pay for the cruise a while back. She said that we must contact the cruise company. Completely waste of time. Took 9 months for cruise line to refund, but got charged for foreign transaction fees twice. Westpac wouldn't do anything for us. It is Westpac Black card.

            • @apple0604: shame on WBC their logic was totally flawed as you authorize one tx does not mean you will authorize the other. Wondering if you have dumped their CC.

              • @[Deactivated]: That's what I told the girl. But she was so stubborn. Sometimes I found it all depend on who you spoke with.

            • @apple0604: They are right, you must contact the merchant first. If you havent then most banks will ask you to do that first. That s why I always contact the them first and give it a week or so. Most responsible merchants will surely get back to you by then.
Once a dispute is underway, you dont need to have it resolved quickly as a temp credit is applied on your account anyway. It is not even taking up your available credit limit so there is really no hurry to have it resolved.
You should also quickly work out which bank is more fussy with disputes and avoid their cards when paying for potentially problematic transactions. My preferred cards are Amex but ur experience may vary.

              • @truetypezk: Well I did try to contact the merchant first and I didn't authorize that payment. The cruise line admitted that it was a mistake but took them 9 months to refund.

Initially I just thought it would be a quick solution if Westpac agree to dispute the charge.

Westpac waived annual fees for our black card for life and we have card auto pay on so it is convenient. Also have a few other cards including amex.

What’s your plan here? Involve a third party website and hope they fight it out around failure to meet deal?

  • +1

Their website is loose. Here is a microwave they’re selling for more than their RRP.

    Good afternoon

We regret to inform you that unfortunately our system has experienced a glitch, the product you have purchased (B310) is around the $1295 amount, not the $12.95 as advertised. as such we are unable to honour this price and will be issuing you a full refund

We are in the process of disabling this product off our website until the correct pricing can be adjusted

A full refund will be issued to you within the next 24-48 business hours

    Kind regards

Jake just gave me the bad news too…

  • RRP says $12.95 on their page. Seems like we’re getting jibbed at least $1,282.05

          Is that you Mr. Koxxxxxis?

    • +6

This jake guy, who sent the email is a muppet.

At least we know the demographics of the Ozbargainers who ordered, even distribution of Asians, Indians and Caucasians names there.

  • Really, no,no way. Time to go to the office of fair trading, consumer affairs etc :)

  • LOL

  • Bad deal now. RRP 12.95 but they sell for 100x more :(

Spewing. Writing up my letter to the ACCC as we speak.

    • Pls pm me how you go.

      Thanks

    • Why, what can ACCC do?

  • +1

"A full refund will be issued to you within the next 24-48 business hours"

Weird phrasing there… does that mean 3-6 business days?

  • Not the first time they've had price errors and refunded everyone.
    They need better price approvals..

    • +1

They might have done it deliberately for free ads.

      • Interesting way to market your business, but I guess any publicity is good?

        • +1

Dunno. But if that was not the case, why would you do it again and again year after year…
I saw such behavior with quite a few businesses which raised my suspicion.

  • +2

    The website is updated.
    Price
    $1,295.00
    RRP $12.95

I think they need to update it again.

  • Do you still get cashback? Haha

  • Go to their FB page if you don't get refund in mentioned time. Or see my previous post on their CS real no. Not the 1300 we will get back to one. That one takes a week to respond. Same with their contract email link.

  • Hold tight as you knew it was likely an error.

  • At least the Paypal refund was issued quickly, just got mine this morning
