Soap Free Body Wash

I'm on the lookout for some non-bs soap free body wash that doesn't cost a fortune.
I've been using normal body wash with soap in, mostly the Aldi $3.69 body wash but have also tried Dove and some others when they are half price at Woolies. I get a skin rash on my arms and hands.

Looking around at soap free body wash and they're all vegan, certified organic, anti-cruelty (no sausage rolls were harmed) $20 bottles of 500ml or less.

I don't think I need some special dermatologist approved or expensive Cetaphil, just something cheap that will clean my body and to try out to see if the skin rash goes away.

Does anyone have suggestions?

Bonez… gotta get rid of that photo…

Natuva goats milk body wash made in osborne park.

$9.95? for 1 litre at wizard etc pharmacies..

Some clothes washing powders with blue stuff in it are bad news for sensitive skin.. check what is used at your joint.

    • Brilliant, exactly what I was looking for! Appreciate it.

I probably could change the picture, but then I might cry… sniffs

We used DermaVeen soap free wash, often on special at Chemist Warehouse.

but now a bit cheaper at Woolies.

If you have hot showers and long ones, it can dry the skin, so you should moisturise right after you dry off.

The cheap option is the Redwin 2L Sorbolene cream that is like $3.5 when half price at Woolies or Coles. Those are a nice balance not too greasy not too light, but some people have skin that reacts to the chemicals inside.

Demaveen also have great moisturisers and Aveeno works well as well.

    • These 2 should work. Incase not, try using Dead Sea Salt - order from ebay and make a scrub using oil & essence.
Keep the areas moisturised - can again use Redwin sorbolene

  • Aveeno - often goes on sale so can grab the bigger bottles for cheap.

Also with the skin rash, like others have said, consider the temperature and duration of your showers, whether any softeners are used in your laundry, diet etc

  • It has been better for me since I moved to cold showers too. It is the ultimate ozbargainer thing to do.

You save on water / gas / electricity because it is so cold you want to get in and get out. Your skin doesn't get as dried out as long wonderful steaming hot showers.

I like saving money, but when it's 6C outside I really can't see myself going that far ;)

  • I'd recommend the Health Basics Dermaplus Body Wash, usually somewhere between $8-$10 at Coles & Woolworths for a 1L bottle that will last a while. Lathers nicely so you don't have to use a lot every wash. Been using it for years on my sensitive skin & it's never given me any problems.

I use QV Wash from Chemist Warehouse $18.99 for 1.25L

    • Same here! Really good for my dry skin :)

    • Upvote isn't enough for this. QV Gentle Wash is excellent.

  • Most Body washes and shower gels are soap free. Dove is not soap free. (Sodium Tallowate, Sodium Palmitate and Sodium Stearate are soaps)

  • We use the Pears Bodywash 3 pack from Costco

  • Sukin. I stock up when they go for half price at chemist warehouse or Priceline.

  • not really a body wash but I still have a stack of goat soap from the last ozbargain run and I have no problems in recommending it those who want soap free options - was something stupid like <50c a bar. Goes alright if you dont mind using bar soap.
