Perfect timing if you bought some during their last sale. You might be able to stack a referral code with this and get $20 off for your first order.
I've only tried their Crompton Road blend and highly recommend it, as do most people that have tried it here.

Great coffee. I've had a couple of kgs of their Compton blend and it's the best I've tasted alongside the Little Marionette House blend. I'm sticking to Little Marionette though as they are local to me in Sydney.

I should say that both of these brands completely wipe the floor with all of the other coffee deals posted on this site.

People complain about the cost of five senses but I've tried a number of different coffee roasters thanks to ozbargin and I always keep going back to five senses, for me it's well worth it

I’ve only tried Pablo & Rusty’s when it used to get posted here and you can’t even compare the two, the Crompton Rd blend is a lot better

        • +1

totally agree, after many many attempts, we are yet to find anything as good as Compton Road,Pablo and Rusty was worse than lavazza or woolies beans.

Bit too expensive for my liking you need to have won a couple award if you charging over 40$ a kg if you ask me. Which is about the upper standard rate for 1kg of good beans these days

    • +1

Especially with those recent deals for $23/kg for beans. Even dukes had a great price recently (search the past posts).

I get those deals were to flush out Cafe orders so we probably won't see much of this deals as cafes start to reopen. But damn, it's set a new Ozbargain price for beans now.

    • I had the same mindset as well but jumped on it when there was a deal 1kg for ~$40 delivered. I’ve ordered a second bag since then and it’ll be my 3rd in a few days I enjoy it that much.

I pay around $40 for my beans locally but this saves me the drive and they’re freshly roasted as opposed to a week or two old

Five Senses tastes like they've won every coffee award in the world.

Darkhorse is the one I get and it makes better coffee than most cafes will make you.

      • Thats fair enough but your comment is based on 'opinion' and fair enough if you feel like it is worth it then that is a personal choice

I've drank a lot of coffee I would say in my house hold we go though about a 1kg a fortnight every coffee that has a gold or silver (even Bronze) medal on this list has been solid https://www.rasv.com.au/australian-international-coffee-awar…

Too charge more then a Gold/Sliver medallist if you ask me is a bit too pricey imo sure it might be worth it but why would you hire the local footy unknown player when you can hire a proven pro at the same price?

        • To be considered for judging in this contest, you'd have to express interest and pay a fee; like most competitions where the brand will get something out of it.

Maybe Five Senses just don't see a value in being judged?

    • I've tried many of the other coffees posted on this site in the past year and Five Senses are definitely worth the premium. If you really don't want to pay $40 fair enough. If you are a coffee lover then spending 60c for a double shot is not an issue compared to spending about 36c for a double shot from a $25 kg bag.

Fair enough never said i had a problem paying +40$ for a bag of coffee (good coffee) and to charge the higher amount you need to earn it if you are trying to attract new customers you gotta give them a reason to try it over your competitors…..

But from your comments i reckon you got some association to this business this why the Internets bag of opinions counts of ZERO without a standardised measure to compare it against….

But if you enjoy it good on you but i wouldn't recommend buying something i wouldn't buy myself based on this post alone

        • +2

Haha. Really liking a product doesn't mean you're likely to be associated with the business selling it. Some of us just really like certain coffee (and products). I've tried heaps and keep going back to FS so now I only buy FS. Some very popular cafes even use FS beans. CREAM in Brighton, Adelaide use the Crompton Street blend and they're the cafe in Adelaide that most coffee lovers would pop up and say "that's the best cafe in Adelaide". In fact, that's how I got put onto buying Five Senses myself.

        • That's pretty sad that you assume that and I can assure you that it's not the case. Feel free to look back across all previous Five Senses posts and you can see they have a more loyal following than most.

  • Wish there was free delivery, although the Cleanskin blend looks like a deal to me. Does anyone have a review of the Cleanskin blend?

    • +2

The cleanskin is not a particular blend - it would be just whatever blend they have excess supply of at the time (leftovers/excess from a custom batch they have tweaked for a particular cafe*). It would just be luck of the draw which particular blend you get.

*eg. If a certain cafe likes the Crompton road blend, but wants it roasted darker or lighter, or wants the mix of beans adjusted for particular flavours, Five Senses might roast 30kg of it to cover a 20kg order, and sell the rest off as cleanskins. (Numbers completely made up in my head as an example!)

  • I bought 1 250g but I could only apply 1 referral $10.

  • Totally disappointed with last week's arrival of Five Senses :-( Crompton Rd and the Indian one they talked up in an email this month.

Crompton Rd didn't taste nearly as good as I remembered it from last year and I've just tried the Indian one for the first time and it had a really strange mouth feel in a double ristretto latte, which is what I always make. I think this was the 5th time in 16 months I've bought Five Senses and it might be my last based on these 2 x 250g bags :-( I ordered Santo Antonio last month and didn't like it although it sounded amazing.

Leftarm/field? Roasters I heard about through here and Coffee Snobs Fiefy's Barista Blend were both much better last month than this month's Five Senses purchase.

  • How does the Acacia estate taste like if compared to crompton road?

  • You can use a referal to get a 250g bag for $5 pick up or $12.70 delivered. It's great to be able to try some of the SO coffee
