Sony 65" X7000G 4K UHD SMART LED TV or Samsung 65" TU8000 4K UHD SMART LED TV?

Hi All

I am after a 65" smart TV and want to decide with either Sony X7000G series or Samsung TU8000 series. Both are avaiable on similar price to me on TGG commercial.

Any thoughts?

  • Can I ask what’s the price? Can you also check the price for Samsung RU8000 on TGG commercial?

    • $1295 Sony, $1282 Samsung

    • RU 8000, can't find it there mate.

    • RU8000 was the 2019 version so may be hard to find stock. The TU8000 is the 2020 version but is actually more a replacement of the RU7100, Samsung shifted their naming line, so technically the RU8000 would be better than the TU8000.

  • I'd be more inclined to say the Samsung, also if you have access to the Samsung EPP it is cheaper on there by a little ($1,274.25) - also includes free shipping so that may help. Also Sony has the X7000G at the same price as The Good Guys Commercial here, which will also include free shipping. Just thought I'd let you know so you know your options when purchasing.

    • No stock on samsung EPP, although samsung one shows $1,104+ $50 for email signup so comes down to $1,054.

      • Odd, I see stock on my EPP, may differ per organisation I guess.

        • Can you please refresh and see if it comes up? 65" TU8000 Crystal UHD 4K Smart TV (2020), i will then get onto customer rep chat.

@mkh1991: On refresh it did say out of stock, very weird. Also, what did you mean by the $1,054 price, is that for the TU8000?

            • @BeerCrisp: yes, $1104 for TV price on EPP + $50 voucher for signup to promos, pretty good price for 65" TV.

              • @mkh1991: How did you get $50 voucher? It's not appearing for me.

  • Can anyone search for the item and price in Samsung EPP without having access to it?

    • Don't think so..

  • Can you find Q60R on yoir channels. Thats a better tv again. Else I will suggest TU8000

    • I just bought a Q60T from good guys Lutwytch in Brisbane, they still had Q60R 65 in stock, but offered me the Q60T for $1500 without using GGCommercial after I mentioned I had access.

I should have tried to get the R for the same price but it was listed at $2500 from memory.

      • Thanks mate. I will call them tomorrow to see if they can do that price.

Sorry just remembered that $2500 price was a 75" Q60R.

Regardless I'm happy with the Q60T but I'm no picture snob, really happy with the lack of screen reflections thought.

  • Is the Sony an Android OS?

No just netflix, Youtube one I guess.

Stock is back on Samsung website, manage to get 1 for $1,054

    • The 55TU8000? How do I get this price?

    • How'd you get this price? interested in getting one for my mum.

      • Samsung EPP program mate

        • Probably depends on the company you go through, lowest I can get it through my EPP is $1,274.25

    • I tried but not able to apply 50 AUD promo code on Samsung EPP website, terms says code is not applicable for EPP prices

  • Why are all the 65 inch tvs more that 1.3k in cost? Last year I could see Hisense 75 inch TVs within the 1000$ range?

  • I have the Samsung 55" TU8000 which i managed to get for $800 bnib. No regrets at all, the interface is very good, no lag between screens etc. Simple to use and works as it should. For that price can't go wrong really.
