Looking to buy my mother a phone here and send to her in NZ as prices seem a lot cheaper here. Would anyone know of anything to look out for e.g. bands are different here than NZ etc.
She likes the look of the Moto G8 Plus and from what I can tell should be fine, just asking for assurances or assistance in anything not thought of.

Xiaomi Mi A series is really good. They have Android One so they will use stock android and have a long life as far as updates go.

Phone bought in Australia will work in New Zealand, you'll have no issues there
If you buy the phone in New Zealand for warranty or other purposes, have a look at PBTech
The Warehouse also have the Moto G7, could be an option to consider
