  • What’s the min cost op?

  • Is this for existing subscribers or will it work for new sign ups?

If nest hello was available in Australia, i would be all over the subscription service.

    • +3

I bought Nest hello from the US back in December to replace my Ring v1
Working perfectly and no regrets at all
Also no issue in using Australia Nest Aware subscription

      • wonder if there is a plan to bring it to AU?
what is it's water proof rating, if any?

        • The waterproof rating is IPX4
While it is not supposed to be drop into the water
IPX4 covers "Splashing water - Water splashed from any direction"
So basically should be ok for rains and winds (as long as it is under covered)

Not sure when will Google bring it to Australia officailly
Back in 2018 Kogan was selling grey import Nest Hello but not anymore
I bought from B&H via this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/500605

          • @littlesoldier: thanks for that. i'm thinking about getting one but it would be fully exposed. might have to build it an enclosure.

            • @tadere: Don't think it ever will as both the IQ and nest hello run 5ghz and supposedly current regs in Australia doesn't allow for it.

Got the nest hello and two nest iq outdoors imported though!

              • @EnergicAU: thanks. Will keep an eye on the EFY specials or wait for one of the cyber deals. low AUD is killing any deals atm

                • @tadere: AUD is the strongest it's been for awhile. Get them now when you can. Check BHPHOTO and wait for US deals

  • Are you using the trial or have you paid for it?

  • whats the difference between old plan and new plan? I am on old plan, is it worth the switch?

    • sorry just read. Old plan requires one plan per device, new plan supports all devices in one plan

    • Old plan (basic)
      - only support 1 device (1 device $70/y, 2 devices $110/y, 3 devices $150/y)
      - 24/7 5days video history

      New plan (basic)
      - support all devices in the same account ($90/y)
      - 30days event videos

I would say if you have more than 1 devices
the new plan has a better value
especially nest aware is really intelligent in catching all types of motions (and the face recognitions is great too)
so event videos should be good enough for most people

      Here is the comparison:

  • Just bought a nest mini from the google store for $79 last week and have been paying for a nest aware subscription for the last 6 months.. If I had just waited..

    • +1

      oh no…
if you had just checked gumtree ebay facebook… many selling sealed box for $40-50…. actually the real market price is $30-35

    • should of paid a little more for a hub

  • It appears some are getting Google Nest Hubs? https://9to5google.com/2020/06/02/free-google-nest-hub-aware…

    • It says you need to be in United States for it!

      • can you use a dropbox service maybe

  • I just got an email today for this. I signed up for the new nest on day one of the new plans which was before 1st June. Ordered the nest mini for free no problems with the email they sent

    • I got the email when I saw this and logged into the account. When I changed over to the new pricing, Google refunded the difference automatically as well which is great.
