  • Amazing speaker, although the most recent firmware kills a lot of the bass. If you buy, do not update the firmware.

    • ah crap. just read this. did not know Bose were stuffing up this too with a firmware update. Why the hell do they keep doing this?!

      • I didn't know they were doing this with other products! This has been amazing, but unfortunately the latest firmware did ruin that BOSE sound. I still love it though. I also bought a sound link mini 2 the other month. But yes, if you do buy, just don't update the firmware!!

Great speaker and good battery life. Bought it back in 2018 at around $325 mark and never regreted it.

I bought this speaker 2 years ago.

I have a few bluetooth speakers and this is the best by a margin (JBL, UE, Whale). Took it camping and so did my friend who bought their much larger Harmon Kardon and we both agreed the Bose sounded better and was half the size.

I love its design, its so small, the handle is convenient and the 360 sound and base from something so small is quality.

TBH, it is sufficient to generate loud, clear, room filling sound in my apartment and i actually prefer the quality of the sound over my sounder (but that's because I like the Bose sound profile).

This can also be paired with other newer Bose speakers in the Bose App. Also has Alexa in built if needed and there is no noise cancelling so no opportunity for Bose to stuff up the firmware (like the did on my QC35 ii's)!!!!!

    Highly recommend - great speaker!

  • I grabbed mine from amazon for $294 about 6 months ago. Great speaker.

The dock however is obscenely over priced and not that good. The USB cable has a tendency to disconnect and the speaker needs to be at just the right angle/rotation to dock, which is a PITA in general and even moreso with no markings to help line it up. the dock on my $50 kettle does a much better job.

I had this in the Cart in the insane Bose sale a few months ago and didn't pull the trigger on the $278 stackable coupon hack.

    One big regret.

Cannot bring myself to buy it for more than $280 now.

    • At that price I would have bought 2!

  • +1

Have the non-plus, but it’s also a great speaker. Connects with multiple devices seamlessly and makes a useful laptop speaker

  • i got mine with Qantas points.. bargain.

  • can we compare this to Sonos Play 5?

    • +1

sure, just like you can compare and apple to an orange.

    • No comparison. Bose is way cheaper and sounds so much better.

      • +1

Thanks. so it better to invest in Bose instead Play 5

        • Yes, if you want a
          - portable
          - bluetooth
          - speaker
because a Play 5 is only one of those things.

        • Oh for sure. Best sounding portable bluetooth speaker
