Read some reviews of this whiskey. Can anyone on here give me an indication as to how "peaty" this is? I don't mind a little smoky flavour but can't stand drinking something that tastes like burnt grass.
Smelling it you'd think it would taste like charcoal, but I find the flavour surprisingly complex and really enjoyable neat. One of my favorites for sure and a bargain at this price

If you don't like smokey you won't like this. Sure it's more refined than the staple 10 years from Ardbeg, Lagavulin or Laphroaig, but you won't get away from the peat. With a touch of water I get the impression of fruity Christmas cake, but in the end the bottle says it all: "Treacle. Bacon. Bonfires."
