1/2 Price 400g Coles Crunchy Hazelnut Spread $1.25 @ Coles

310

Spotted in store, seems nation wide.

Made in Italy, jar and ingredients are 100% identical to 400g Nutino spread so I'd assume it's the same product about 3 times cheaper.

Edit: expiration date on mine is 21/09/2020.

For those who don't like spread just add couple eggs and a half cup of flour and you'll have decent chocolate brownies, i.e.

    • i like $1.25 better

13% of hazelnuts in $1.25/400g vs 30% in $2/300g. I'd say 13% is for cooking, 30% one is for spreading.

I'd say 13% is for true ozbargainers, 30% is for ozbargainers with high yield investment vehicles.

    • I went to two Coles for this product and they all expired July 2020, no thanks…

If you went specifically for the deal you wasted X amount of your time to save $1.25

        • Not if she was trying to buy 100 of them.

        • Of course I wasn't there just for this product… I went to two different shop in two weeks to complete my weekly spend

You have 24 more days until it turns into poison on 1st of July

      • Ours was 6 Sept.

Also our local didn't have the tag reduced and still plenty on shelf,
I didn't need to buy any more yet, but online shows temp out of stock for some reason

    • Damn, bought them @ $2.5. looks like they are clearing the stock. Shame cause it's way better than Nutella (no palm oil, 30% hazelnut)

  • jar and ingredients are 100% identical to 400g Nutino

    how much % hazelnut ?

    • 13%, same as Nutino

thanks for this OP! good work on revealing it's actually Nutino via the ingredients. I wonder if people would be interested in finding what other grocery brand names are sold as generics. I'd personally love to see an up-to-date listing or even an app with this kind of info which people contribute to so that it stays up-to-date.

  • Have tested all of the 3 homebrand hazelnut spreads, IMO Coles comes closest to Nutella and a long long way ahead of aldi/ww.

    • Aldi's spread is made in Germany and Nutella for German market is also made in Germany and tastes different to what you used to in Australia. I would not be surprised if Aldi's spread is actually Nutella for German market.

      • This is good info! Makes sense, the Aldi spread was nice just different. The WW spread was unpalatable.

        • I'm having the Ww smooth spread(also Germany, not sure why online shows Italy. But yeah only 10% hazel and made from Palm) taste seems fine to me

  • +ve for the info and BROWNIE VID
