Not the cheapest it’s been, but definitely a good deal nonetheless and a lot cheaper than through public purchasing. Same model currently listed through TGG public site for $699. Was previously $479.20 in October (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/488960)

    That's fantastic.
    Thanks!

  • My nan is looking for recommendations for a new smart tv. She would like it to be under $1000, be around 60" (I'm guessing she'll have to be happy with either 55" or 65" instead) and have at least one usb port. The above looks pretty good but are there any other recommendations for what is the best tv at the moment for under $1000? As she is a senior, I'm guessing we should be able to get access to TGG Commercial yes? Unfortunately, the senior shopper site looks to be down for membership sign up so I can't try and access TGG Commercial yet.

Thanks mate. Just checked and I can get a commercial membership. Just put in for it and have wait a week or so until they send me the login stuff… Are there any cheap 4k TVs available around the 40-50" size for a good price 300-500? Need one for my home gym. Appreciate the assistance guys as I'm holding off pulling the trigger on a kogab

    • I just bought Amazon TV Svision 50 inches 4K Ultra HD Smart Ultra HD LED TV https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B087RPJBQJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i…

Reason being: it’s $489 delivered with my Prime Membership, has everything I need and Amazon gives me a date it will be delivered so I can make myself available. I’ve been loving Amazon lately. Everything I order gets delivered so quick.

      • Yeah there are a few available for that price range. Can also get a TCL p8m,Kogan, this Philips. Do you know of this one will do Bluetooth to headphones? The only one in the price range I can find so far that will is the p8m. Want something for the gym and my treadmill is pretty loud so Bluetooth would be a major plus.

    • Mine came through almost the same day so it will be quicker than the week!

      • Yeah got mine this morning.

  • May be a silly question, and perhaps I know the answer. But how do these compare to the soniq and kogan tvs? Is it well worth the extra $150-$200ish for the phillips over the kogan/soniq?

    Thanks

    • Btw speaker quality is not of a concern as I'll be using external speakers. Also, the whole smart tv system doesn't really bother me - sure easy access to Netflix and YouTube would be nice - but we do have a Chromecast and am quite happy with it

  • Wondering if this is still the price? Anyone with tgg commercial care to check?

    • Hey there, yep, in stock at $508.

      • Thanks mate.

Did you end up getting one? Cant find any good reviews online

        • I am contemplating between this Philips or the Seiki one.

          https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/seiki-svision-58…

          • @emboon: Wow. The SVision is cheap! I got the 50 inch for $469 a few weeks ago. I ordered from Amazon as I think their after sales support is better. I’ve been clashing with Appliances Online regarding my blender for a couple weeks now. Appliances Online will however let you select a delivery date unlike Amazon, but both are equally fast at delivery.

I would opt for the SVision as the Philips product uses their own smart TV OS and Android TV is miles ahead. I guess it just depends what is important to you.

            • @prkr: @joshabroad How are you finding your new SVision TV? Any minor complaints or is it good enough?

              • +1

@emboon: I’m completely satisfied with it. UI is fast and responsive and it overall works well, looks good. Clear. Impressed given the price.
