    Are Bosch tools any good?

    • +11

These would be suitable for the average DIY project rather then any serious trade work. For larger projects you would be looking at their Bosch Blue range.

    • Bosch is great. Better than the brands you typically find at Bunnings

      • I think they were great but not so much now. And certainly, de Walt and makita which you get at bunnings are at least as good, if not better.
bosch support in Australia is terrible so keep that in mind.

        • I have Bosch 18V and 12V systems, and that's true Bosch powertools distribution in Australia hit the ditch big time. Shame to the ones who made the decision.

The DIY green range are not cheap rubbish they are good tools.

    Thanks OP! Grabbed one.

    Also a great deal on the Bosch 91-Piece V-Line Titanium Set @ $29.90;

Bosch 91-Piece V-Line Titanium Set For Drilling and Screwdriving, Comes with Ratcheting Screwdriver $29.90

Very good deal. Bought one too.

Need a SDS plus drill bit set. Any suggestions?

  • Is it worth getting the 26 piece if I get the 91 piece?

    • Those are the two I am contemplating to purchase too (with the $10 discount offer on their app it will come down to $31.40 for both).

    • The the entire listing for the 26-piece set was gone in about 30 minutes.

Next cheapest offer is on eBay for $31.25.

It looks to be fairly redundant if you're getting the 91-piece set. Compare set contents here and here. There are maybe 3 or 4 screwdriver bits in the 26-piece set that are lacking from the 91-piece set.

Bought the 43pc hex shank and 91pc kit, thanks OP!
Cases look like it'll be good to reuse.

    • I kinda take it back about the case. Nice exterior but the inside are like rubberised blocks with the bits quite snug inside. Not an easy "flip up pull out" system. Rest of it looks pretty spiffy.

  • Do the drill bits fit an impact drill?

    • Not sure why you got negged, valid question. The hex shank bits would fit into an impact driver but I've read nothing about them being rated for impact drivers so they would likely break or not perform properly if used that way.

  • thanks op, grabbed on 91 piece set. now waiting for some scoreless on sale

  • Thanks OP. Got a Bosch Cordless Screwdriver IXO VI

  • I'm starting to buy some tools. A noob question, are the drill bits universal or specific only to Bosch tools?

    • +1

      Generic for most common drills.

      • Thanks! Bought the 91!

Can anyone recommend what would a be good tool line for just normal diy stuff at home? Not sure if the Ozito or Ryobi are good for the price.

        • +3

Out of unbiased research and personal experience, 18v cordless Ozito - value for money, 5yrs warranty, available @ Bunnings for return/exchange anytime anywhere, frequent Deals, former Einhell & decent quality, cheap batteries, same battery for power/diy & garden tools. Hope this helps.

          • @jas2u: All these points and…almost as big a platform of skins as the Ryobi.

            • @Spending2Much: So would you say that better to buy the Ozito pruning saw rather than the Bosch?
Price is similar at the moment and as you said its got 5 year warranty and i am 10 minutes drive from my local Bunnings.

              • @techno2000: Get the Ozito X Reciprocating Saw skin instead, as the blades are the same. Far more versatile, without the need for that 'guard'. Glad I asked the guy at Bunnings before shelling out on that unit.

              • @techno2000: Recip see far more versatile.
These new red ozito range seem to have good quality, price and warranty

        • ozito will definitely break within 5 years if you do any decent size jobs with them. but after a couple of years you've lost your receipt.

          • +1

@thepigs: not if you snap and upload the receipt to google drive using the app, takes 10 seconds max including renaming the file for easy search in the future

            • @CyberMurning: In the self checkout, they have an option to put in your mobile number. It then sends you a link via sms and that allows you to view a digital receipt or save it to your bunnings account or email it.

  • Reviews mixed on the 91 piece kit

  • Thanks OP - 91 piece for me.

  • Anyone tried the nano blade chainsaw and can recommend it?

    • +2

I haven't used it but I reckon it looks like a bit of a gimmick. Might be better off with a recipro saw with a wood blade!

      • Thanks just watched a YouTube review. Interesting concept but works crap.

amazing deal layout, price ascending order really helped

What's the difference between Bosch X line and V line?

  • Thanks OP! Used ratchet socket yesterday for the first time and it is great in every way. Bought the 26 piece set to replace screwdriver in the toolbox

  • 91pcs GONE

    • Yep - quite a few of those listed have now gone.

    • i want the 91… omg

  • Is 100mm angel grinder good enough for cutting pavers ? I wonder what's the difference between 100mm and larger ones

  • Does anyone know how does Bosch 91-Piece V-Line Titanium compares to Bosch MS4091 91-Piece Drill and Drive Bit Set in https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B015SR9I02?

    • not sure if my eyes correct but one is blue one is green coloured box?
then the blue is always higher quality/model/line than green (for bosch products)

Bosch 43-Piece X-Line Mixed Hex Shank Drill Bit Set(amazon.com.au), $19.90
Coming up as $73.50 now… sale over?

  • If you are purchasing any of these cordless tools make sure to check the charger is 240v and not US 110v variety.

    Missed it…bugger.

    Thanks anyway OP.

expire the f'n thing rather than have people wasting their time clicking through

  • The Bosch 26-Piece Screwdriver Bit arrived today.

Set looks great, havent had a chance to test it yet. Anyone know what the 4x compasses key opening 6/8/10/13 is used for? Doesnt seem to fit the ratchet or bits

EDIT: worked it out, sockets to be used with the 1/4 adapter
