Power Supply Recall - Western Digital My Passport Wireless Pro and SSD

IMPORTANT: Electrical Safety Recall

Power Supply for My Passport Wireless Pro and SSD Hard Drives (Sold between June 2016 and November 2019).

Identification: The power supply with model number APP524-051240U, as pictured on the left (marked with a red box), which was sold between June 2016 and November 2019 with My Passport Wireless Pro and SSD hard drives with the model numbers WDBP2P0020BBK, WDBVPL0010BBK, WDBSMT0030BBK, WDBSMT0040BBK, WDBAMJ0010BGY, WDBAMJ0020BGY, WDBAMJ2500AGY and WDBAMJ5000AGY, as pictured above on the right. The power supply is affected when used with the adapter for Australia or New Zealand. The hard drive and SSD themselves and any other accessories such as USB cables are not affected. There are no known issues with other power supply models, including the replacement model APP524-051240U-4.

Defect: If the power supply is assembled incorrectly, live parts can be exposed, which does not comply with electrical safety standards.

Hazard: Risk of electric shock.

Action Required: Cease using Power Supply APP524-051240U immediately by turning off GPO (general power outlet), disconnect the adaptor from supply, store power supply securely. Contact Western Digital to receive a replacement and information regarding safe disposal of the power supply. Customers may continue to use their hard drive products without the power supply.
