Ergohuman V1 or V2

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a good quality office chair to sooth my back for the foreseeable future.
I have been pointed towards the Ergohuman V1 or V2, but I am deterred by the prices ($680 for the V1, & $780 for the V2 mesh versions). By the looks of it, these chairs rarely go on sale.

Are there any similar quality office chairs at a lower price point?

  • FWIW I have an Okamura and a Steelcase, both far superior to the Ergohuman V1 or V2 in my opinion, however they are the more expensive models. You might want to check if they have anything cheaper that would suit you.

  • My cheap knockoff Ergohuman has lasted longer so far than than the most expensive a-mart office chair ever did. I've not been able to compare it to a real one, but it is comfortable and cool in the CQ summer.

    • Where did you get it from?

      • Ergolux EX10S from Kogan but not at it's current price. It is on sale for under 300$ more often than it isn't, but according to price hipster it looks like they haven't put it on sale since the end of March when a whole bunch of people started working from home for some reason…

  • Not sure about any other options for you, but here's a heads up - the V2 chair runs pretty high so I reckon if you're shorter than around 165-170 cm, your feet wouldn't be able to lie flat on the floor.

The mesh is nice to get good air circulation. No more sweaty ass from the fake leather stuff.

I suggest you setup an alert on Gumtree. People offload Ergohumans all the time.

I've been looking online for a decent office/gaming chair for home which has lumbar support as I suffer from lower back pain.

There isn't anywhere near me where I can test the chair and read online that some people complain about the size and height being a problem.

I'm 6'1 and 80kg and was wondering if anyone could let me know if it'll be right for me?

I can get a 5yr warranty ordering from ergohuman.com.au ($770 delivered) but they aren't getting restocked until mid-September.

I found an eBay listing from Office Furniture Direct for the same price but they only offer a 3 year warranty.

They also have a listing of the Ergo 1 for $820 shipped and that has a 10 year warranty but I can't seem to find any reviews on it or information about. Seems to be about the same as the Ergohuman with a few extras like detachable headrest and coat rack.

Does anyone have an Ergo 1? Are they any good? Or are there any other chairs out there around the same price that people recommend?

    • Get a used Aeron for less.

      • I picked one up for $400. Has been the perfect gaming chair for the past few years.

        • When?

Seems like most listings are blue between 800-1200 depending on age and spec

Get a kettlebell to fix that lower back problem

    • I got a Ergohuman V2 Plus Deluxe Full Mesh. Looks a lot like Ergohuman 1 but with a mesh for the seet. I like it a lot. I am 1.92 and the headrest is at the limit, that is about it. Otherwise it is strong, I like it. Because of my weight (135) the chair does go down now and then by itself. I have not figured out why as probably 1 time a day I have to raise it up again.
