    Thanks LlamaFace!
    Might be worth updating the post to include the whole series;
    Kobo Libra H20 - Black $215.95
    Kobo Libra H20 - White $223.50
Definitely worth buying the SleepCover based off experience. ($32.95)

Kobo Clara HD ($196.25) has been cheaper and is expected to be updated soon.

      Done! Cheers :)

    • +1

Yeah Clara HD is currently $179 at JB Hifi so not a great deal here, but the others are good.

  • Damn, I just bought the Libra a few months ago from Booktopia

    • How much did you buy it for?

      • +1

$245.21 (with sleepcover case) + $7.95 shipping. I think it was on sale, and I used 10% from unidays too.

        • Ah nice, I might use my unidays too. I just reached the site through booko and it seems like they don't have the free shipping offer anymore that you used to get automatically if you entered the site through booko.

    • Same - no regrets though, it's been great. Also thanks for your comment back in May on the Kobo Clara deal that made me aware of the Unidays discount - saved me a bit of cash!

Kobo is so underrated. It’s great. Especially I can borrow Andrew lot of quality books from both Brisbane and Logan library via Overdrive.

  • Bought a Clara HD for the wife for mothers day. It has something loose inside (sounds like the battery), that you can hear clunk from side to side when tipping the ereader (day 1 issue from new).
Bought direct from Kobo, and contacted their support, and all they offered was a refurb.
Poor customer service - would encourage people not to buy direct from them at least - hopefully booktopia would do better.
FYI 3rd kobo we've had/have, they are great little ereaders, but check support T&Cs first.

  • Black and white only?

    • ಠಿ_ಠ

      In this day and age!

  • Thats a small number of supported languages. Suprising considering unicode supports virtually every language. Or do they mean interface languages?

    • They mean file formats. Kindles will only support .mobi and .azw files (the latter is nothing but a .mobi file with a layer of DRM over it).

      • Languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, Brazilian, Portuguese, Japanese, Turkish

        Is what I'm referring to.

        • +1

Yeah not sure what that's referring to but it's not accurate in any case.

Mine supports (and this is just the Kobo OS - not the books them self)

          • Bokmål
          • Català
          • Dansk

          • Suomi

          • Türkçe

And then there's 3 Asian languages, so probably trad. Chinese, korean, japanese?

        • I believe the supported language refer to built in dictionaries and maybe user interface.

  • Bought one last year in eBay for $320.

  • Do Kobo's support amazon mobi files, or does the Amazon's DRM not allow it?

    • +1

Amazons DRM does not allow it, however, Calibre and Tools can be used to remove that and convert to EPUB

  • I'd appreciate it if someone with Unidays could PM me a discount code.

  • Does anyone have rumours about colour eink from kindle or kobo?

    • Nah, not gonna happen anytime soon, there's been rumours for years, but demand is too low & is just not practical enough to keep prices down. Most people would rather spend that amount to get a tablet to read comics.

  • I love being able to borrow books from the library with my Clara. I ended up giving my paperwhite to my mum, and I miss the books on there that I had bought. I wish Amazon would get behind overdrive here in Australia.

    • +1

You can read overdrive books on a Kindle, it just involves some initial setup, questionable DRM navigation and wrangling through calibre everytime.

Btw, for anyone who is considering buying the (excellent) official sleep cover, check out aliexpress if you're fine buying an off-market one that is also really good and a bit cheaper. The best one that I've found on aliexpress is the "BOZHUORUI Case for Kobo Libra H2O 7" eReader Premium PU Leather…"

I own one so if anyone has any questions feel free to ask! I mainly use it with the Pocket app/extension which pretty much a bookmark button that downloads the text from a webpage online and then syncs it to the Kobo. It gets past most newspaper paywalls too I've found.

    • +1

Love the Pocket feature! Sometimes I actually don't get around to reading my fiction because I'm catching up with my Pocket articles…

  • Great product, but booktopia were a complete nightmare to deal with when I bought my kobo.

They kept saying it was in stock, but took 1 month to deliver.

In hindsight, should of cancelled for a refund and bought somewhere else.

  • Please advice unidays code didn't work. Anyone has the same issue and what to do please
