Where to Report Terrible Electrician Service?

Had a really bad experience with ElectFirst.

I had a power outage on a Friday night around 9 pm. Called couple electricians. One local electrician said he could come to have a look at 8 am.
He got other jobs from 9 am. Basically, he came and spent one hour, found that it was quite complex. So he left, didn't charge me anything, advised me to find another guy.

I called a couple of electrician numbers again, electFirst said they could arrange someone come to have a look.

When the dude came, I told him there was another electrician came but didn't have time to finish. This dude said it was "disgusting" for an electrician left their customer with no power.

Guess what, he spent two hours, charged me $600+, did not even find the issue at all. Offered me another $600 to diagnose or $4000 to rewire everything.

So he called an electrician who came and checked one hour with no charge as "disgusting", what word best describes him?

After he left, I called back the first electrician. It took him around 2 hours to find and fix the issue completely.

I sent an email to the company to complain. However, no feedback at all.

Just wondering are there any way I could do to give feedback? Or I should let it go and learn from that.

The first guy seemed somewhat decent. If there is any take-away from this experience, is to keep the first guy's number handy, you're gonna need it again in the future and good tradies are hard to come by.

  • Have you rung them?

They have guarantees of up front costs. I’d take them up on that

    Report to OzBargain.

The mods will escalate straight to the Governor General.

    • Who will than escalate it to The United Nations.

      That will fix them.

      • seriously, I have to do it again.

    • Used to be GG, then Adem Somyurek, then UN.

    Liberal area?

  • No electrician is worth anywhere near $300 an hour.
