Weber Briquettes - 10KG for $20 with free delivery. Not the cheapest deal but having it shipped to your door for cheaper than heat beads at Woolies/Coles seems ok at the moment

      ready in 10 mins

      • any idea where to get it? as all the local bunnings near me are out of stock… thanks

      • There must be a tip to using these without using so many firelighters. I've tried the stuffed junk mail and a few firestarters but only the bottom couple of beads burn (not the whole way through) before it goes out.

        • Been lighting 'Original Heatbeads' for 40 yrs in a Weber without a charcoal tower(got one but only use it for a Weber 'Snake' burn) and I use 4 firelighters. That's all.

Sunday night is; Light at 4 pm(both trays in Weber are chocca with beads), fire is ready at 5-510pm, Leg of lamb/pork/chook/heap of veg/hickory chips for smoking. 6.15 pm jobs done.

*What are you cooking in,what heatbeads and what firestarters are you using?

Butane stove (the ones that take the aerosol sized canister) under it for a few minutes.

          That's how it works.

I use 3 firelighter cubes which help ignite the bottom beads. These beads then start a chain reaction and ignite the remaining beads.

Within 10-15 min they are ready for the Weber

I use my side-burner on gas bbq or a chimney

My local Woolworths are offering a special online bundle of $25 for 12 kg (3 x 4 kg) heat beads - which almost works out as cheap ($25 vs $24 equivalent). Of course this assumes that you are already ordering groceries.

  • These are my favourite briquettes for the kettle. Consistent and long burn. No chemical smell. I have no issue lighting them in a charcoal chimney or using my ozito electric heater charcoal starter.

  • sold out now - taking pre orders
