Braun Oralb Electric Toothbrush Slowing down

Ive had this toothbrush now for almost 6 years & red somewhere that they are only suppose to last 6 years.
its starting to slow down badly even after fully charged- One thing I did notice - as with alot of other rechargeable batteries - when we completely drain the battery of its power & then charge fully - you can see the difference - just like new. However doing this procedure everyday is not very convenient- what would you do ??? buy a new one ?? or just put up with it ????

At first I thought you were saying the toothbrush is 6 months old. Seriously? You had 6 years of use out of it and you want to come here and ask people what you should do?
    Lost for words really.

Go to the media right now. This is unacceptable.

Go full Karen this is definitely warranted. 6 years is just way too short

You can purchase replacement batteries for some Oral B toothbrushes but you've got almost 6 years out of it so it's served you well.

Time to buy a new and updated toothbrush.

Partners Oral B battery died last week. Took it to Battery World. $27 supply and fit.

    • $27 is comparable to the cost of an electric toothbrush on sale for 50% off. Might be worth OP purchasing a new one.

      • Not if the one you have is a $120 one it isn't.

  • put up with it until a deal on another oralb toothbrush comes along

    • plenty of deals on oral b toothbrushes at the moment.

  • If it's a cheapie OralB just buy a new one and sling the old one in a battery recycling bin.

  • get xiaomi ones. charges in 2 hours not like oralb 8 hours

    • Faster charging wears the battery out much faster though :-(

This is totally unacceptable. Lucky you didn't mention the model number. I would have been totally pissed specially if it was the Vitality Plus which you can get for $25 from Coles and it should have lasted you a lifetime with twice a day brushing(and possibly close to 1000 charge cycles over 6 years). I'd suggest you contact ACCC without delay and if they don't resolve this within 30 minutes you must ring Tracy Grimshaw immediately.

    • Funny U should mention her. She is actually on these forums. She has made some very good comments. Good on Ya Tracey !

  • I spent over $100 on Braun OralB toothbrush and it died after two years. I just accepted that as it is because I got 1460 uses out of it.

SIX YEARS, can you please advise the model number, I will get that next time.

  • First world problem. Plus the toothbrush lasted as long as your expectations of it are.

Maybe you could replace the battery, but the whole drain and charge vs performance will depend on what battery type is in the toothbrush. However, I'm sure a replacement battery and effort to obtain/replace it will probably be no more than simply buying a new toothbrush.
