    Yes (short answer)
    Long answer - you can only output 5kw, so need to use/shed the rest.

    Unrelated, I understand ABB have cleaned up the PO Aurora line, however a bad taste from an early failure PVI 4.2 with no warranty still lingers…

      The above ABB uno comes with full 10 years warranty on parts and labour. Peace of mind for 10 years!!

      They took them all back and replaced or repaired and designed a whole new product, the sheer scale did overwhelm them (There were thousands in the warehouse waiting) but they got there. It’s good product now.

      They seem to be ok so far, but ABB / aurora seem to have a 7 to 8 year curse going on currently they have a relay fail everytime. Replace one every week if a not a few.

    Energex will allow 5kw per phase to be fed back into their grid which means 5kw single phase and 15kw for 3 phase.

    However Energex also allow an additional 5kw per phase at zero export. This system is ideal for single phase meter property owners having an electricity bill more than $500 per quarter.

    For single phase meter bigger than 5kw inverter, yes it's required.
