  • I'm waiting for a deal for LG oled B9 since it have a hdmi 2.1. Perfect combo with PS5.

    • +3

A cheap B9 would be the dream, but good luck finding stock :/

      • How does B9 compare to c9? I hear pic quality is shit, needs to be calliberated. Any experiences would be good to hear.

        • Upscaling isn't quite as nice as a C9.

If you're watching a 4K Bluray, no one would be the wiser.

        • +1

Not sure where you heard that, I believe the only difference is a slightly weaker processor in the B9. Rtings ranked the B9 as the best TV of 2019 as it's virtually no different to the C9 with a more attractive price tag.

      • Some Costco still have B9 stock left

    • While PS5 may support HDMI 2.1, nothing will run at 120hz anyway so it isn't particularly useful

      • It's very useful if you have a pc and some Xbox series X games will take full advantage of that 120hz.

        • Definitely, if only we got the 48 inch here :(

      • If so, wouldn't a panasonic be better? heard the image quality was slightly better

        • +2

Well Panasonic has pulled out of our market here, but can probably find last years model to snag up

      • +1

        and Brisbane.

The TV and soundbar I ordered on Monday arrived today.

        • +1

Good to know. Didn't realise QLD South East excluded Bris.

      • +1

Good only for Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. Will save going through the exclusions list.

cheapest ever lol just a rip off for 55". considering last year was averaging $1700's, now $2690 $300 less then c9 65" was averaging last year is considered cheap, guess with Panasonic exiting the market LG is taking advantage

LG C9 OLED vs LG CX OLED

  • +1

I really need a TV but I'm waiting for the C9 prices T_T.

  • Paid only $2.4k for my 65B8 back in 2019. Yes some say say it’s an older / inferior model but hey it’s 65”

    • +8

      it’s an older / inferior model ;)

      • Agreed! But still comes with an amazing OLED panel. And lack of eARC, HDMI2.1 and fancy AI modes etc doesn’t bother me considering the $ I paid!

  • I assume this works for the CX65 also?
With a max $300 off would bring the TV to $3900ish which isn’t amazing.

    • +1

Some here and on Whirlpool have got the 65 for $3,655.

      • Ok but how do I get it for $3655 ? If I show this receipt to my local good guys they will just lol at me and tell me to go away

      • That’s the deal I’m looking for. Congratulations!

    • its $3400

  • +2

This is (profanity) absurd, the C9 was $1700

  • I bought the C9 55” from TGG for 1800 AUD (1710 AUD using the gift card).

    Best bargain ever …. !

    • Boxing Day?

      • There was an EBAY offer on C9 55" approx 1760 AUD early April … I asked TGG to price match and they offered me their best price of 1800. Paid via Gift Card saving 5% (1710 AUD)

Wow, glad I got my C9 at ~$1700!

  • +1

It's a much different world than saw the rise and subsequent price fall of the C9. I'm not sure why people are so surprised it isn't heavily discounted at launch?

  • Black Friday will potentially be a good indicator of how low prices might fall.

  • I would pay this for the 65

  • +2

Wish the 48" would come here - want it for PC/PlayStation

    • +1

Same, I think they've underestimated how well it's going to sell. Doesn't make a lot of sense considering it's coming to NZ

      • Oh well - I think I want something with USB-C anyway, just waiting for a deal on a good 32" 4K monitor.

    • They said its rolling out slowly. Starting with a few regions first. Unless I missed something because I'm waiting for it for my PC.

      • There's a thread on Whirlpool where someone had a chat to LG and they said they had no plans unfortunately

        • +1

I asked them on twitter today and this is the reply I got: At this stage we can neither confirm nor deny. However. Just because it isn't available at launch of our 2020 range, doesn't mean it isn't coming, period.

    • +1

I'm in the exact same boat. I want a smaller OLED TV to play 4K PC/ PS5 games on in my bedroom. Really hope it comes here. LG are making a mistake.

  • Wow! Glad I got my TH-75FX780A Panny for below $2500.

  • OLED is now stupid expensive.

  • +1

Where is the CX 48"? I'm dying to replace my pc monitor!

  • With the 48inch CX not being available (maybe never) yet, I decided to pull the trigger on the 55CX - for the instant asset write-off.

Walked into HN and got it for 2690. The workers was very reluctant and took some negotiation.

    Excellent second screen so far.

    • Out of interest what is your portion for business use? Can you claim this as a PC monitor ;P?

      • That is exactly my intention.
You'll potentially get back everything as it states in the instant asset write-off… However, it also depends on your tax bracket.

I'm aiming for about 80% of my purchases as a refund.
