      You have been badly misinformed.

i personally don't drink whisky but the people drink JW they always scream black label

        • +8

This makes black label look like red label

@XeKToReX: I've made the jump and the difference is huge between red and black, is it the same for this?

        • +2

I don't think as a drinker you need to care too much about one being better than another, like Red < Black < Double Black < Green < Reserve < Blue.

Or Blend < Single malt. Each had their good points and negatives. We all have different pallets so prefer different things.

Find one that you like and it's the best for you. Don't let the grading/pricing affect your decision.

          • @hippo2s: Agreed.
Personally, Green Label is the only JW that I'll drink.

(Because, I think it's a good blended scotch for the price point)

    • Red is the best by a mile
You should try it, you'll be blown away

I recently tried black and it's just red but smoother and easier to drink. Now I've got a bottle of double black though while technically not as good as black it's even smoother and easier to drink.

  • It's a pretty good whisky… For a blend… For the price… But this is not really a bargain.

How does the fact it is a blend detract from the fact that it is (or is not) a pretty good whisky?

    • Also, how is 16(+8)% off what is considered a "pretty good whisky" with free delivery not really a bargain?

Would recommend putting your money into a nice distinguishable single malt over this

Well… I like a number of single malts - but I think that JW Green is a good example of some of the advantages of blending (in this case, 4 individual single malts combined).

When on special, it is particularly good value for a stylish drink - notwithstanding that it has come from the JW stable…
