Solid deal on this oven, which includes the additional air fry function from the model down. Down from RRP: $499.
Looks like a new batch of the previous BOV860 models.

Purchased this the other week for $425 and its a great little counter top. The oven light has a dedicated button which is handy & the fan speed is also controllable.
Great for that late night batch of chicken nuggets.

  • i wonder if this model have any new features compared to the same one i bought >5 years ago. the price didn't quite change…

It now has a function labelled ‘air fryer’ because people still think that’s a real thing.

      • When did it stop being "a thing"? There are plenty of advantages to air-frying, like not setting fire to the house for example.

i think it's the issue of calling it 'air frying' when it's really a fan forced convection…. and with the model i currently own its really a weak fan circulating the hot air. far from the philips XXL that I use more frequently.

@slowmo: Keep in mind you don't have the model that is claimed to function as an air fryer (pretty sure it wasn't available 5 years ago).

          • @slowmo: Maybe, although I don't see why that would be an issue. It's a simple label to help consumers understand what the product does to the food inside.

I might be wrong but I think Breville added 2nd (faster) fan speed. And that made it "air fryer". Also it comes with mesh basket to air fry things.

  • The air fryer by aldi looks better and cheaper. Coming to your neighbourhood store this Wednesday

Cheaper yes, but these items aren't comparable…. Not even in the same league

Got the model without air fryer from another Ozbargain deal. Highly highly recommend. We hardly use our built in oven as this is so much easier to use, quicker to heat up and easier to clean

  • Where is the fan in the oven, is it on the right side?

    • +2

Yep it is! It does a good job at blowing across the whole oven though

  • Price matching appliances Online?

  • Any idea if this has the “proof” function or odd that American only? Been looking at these on YouTube and seems to have a “proof” function but can’t find when googling model in Australia?

    • No it unfortunately doesn’t! The american version has 13 whereas our Aussie version has just 10. They culled the dehydrate and cookie function too

      • Thanks for that, I was getting really confused. Wonder why they sell the better product to the US & not here. I really wanted that version as you can fit more stuff to bake. Guess not worth the upgrade for just the airfry component then

Get the Cuisinart CSO-300NXA. It's really really good. Proofs bread, steams food beautifully, and works as convection oven.

    • So tempted, I really want the black truffle one though. What to do!!!!

Actually that's the wrong one, it's the BOV850BSS, we're looking at the BOV860BSS, although I want the BOV860BTR.

    • +1

That is the old model BOV860BSS4JAN1 vs HWI-BOV850BSS.

      • my appologies, another opinion for alternatives

The coupon code doesn't apply to appliances either.
