for a moment I thought it offers the $20 off if you subscribe to buy the cooker every x months ……

    • LOL - not enough space to write more description

  • Sounds expensive, I'm sure you can get one from Kmart or Target for much much less than this.

Like, Victoria's basement is selling a Scanpan 6L at a better price than this.

Even Amazon is selling a 6L something or other brand for ~$110

    • Not sure - I am in no way expert in this :)

My wife want me to buy a stainless steel pressure cooker and she likes Baccarat.

I ended up buying the 6 litre Baccarat for $109 with free delivery - considering other stores still selling it at full price I am quite happy.

Yep Baccarat, where one team must come up with a selling price followed by by another team taking that and using a random multiplier to arrive at the listed rrp

      • Got a chuckle outta me, but yeah, couldn't agree more, knives that retail for $800, but are always on special for $300. Also, i'm not sure about over east but the stores in wa are always decked out in full on clearance signage.

        • Clearance signage is their logo…

I would use Philips all in one cooker, it can do slow, pressure, keep warm and other things, easy to use, press button with automatic timer for nearly the same price.

    • Indeed. I used to have a stovetop pressure cooker like this.
I recently got a Breville Fast Slow Pro - it is infinitely better.
I wish I'd known this when i bought my previous pressure cooker.

Agreed. I just bought an Instant Pot from Amazon AU and it is excellent and convenient.

More unreasonable RRP on the average Baccarat brand. For that price range you can get a Tefal, Pyrolux etc.

The Baccarat doesn’t even list any safety features which is a red flag imo.

    • Woa - I am worried now - will check if they have a safety valve. I never thought about this before

  • Anyone got some good pressure cooker recipes? Winter in Melbourne lends itself to using it, but i really dont use mine that much….

…Am I the only one who would never buy from this brand because of their insanely dodgy pricing? Maybe the quality is okay, but I'll never know because I'd rather buy from a brand that is at least honest with their customers.

  • Buy the electric ones, these stove top ones are way harder to use.

    • I was curious about which is better. We already have a stovetop one and we find it a bit of a pain TBH. It doesn't get used anymore. Wife has been flagging the electric ones but I'm not convinced we'd use one any more than the stovetop one. So you have an electric one? Which one?

      • We have the Breville Fast Slow Cooker. We never use the slow cooker bit, the pressure cooker does the same in 15 mins & it tastes better. The best bit is you just set it & forget, those stovetop ones are wayyyyy to much hard work.

We've had the Breville for years, they cost a bit more but in my experience, most of what Breville sells are just built to last so I'm happy to pay a bit more for them.

        • Whats this WAY too much work… Ive used a stove top all my life, cant imagine what the WAY too much work is.

          • @Tuba: Getting the pressure right & keeping it. Electric ones you just push a button & come back when it's done. Heaps easier, IMO.

@Yorkshire-Man: We have different ideas of hard work. Unless you use a different stove each time, there isnt much to work out. I do a simple stew that has very little liquid in it (just covers the bottom), and never had an issue. Wait for the the rattle to dance like its at a rave, knock it back a touch, 10 mins. You learn to understand the rattle top thingy.

Set and forget is easier, but thats far from way harder to use.
