    i am just here for the comments… in 3, 2 1

  • Just how short dated is this?

    • +8

I purchased 6 tins to donate and the expiry was 20/10/20

      • I'm not in VIC but I would like to do the same for similar items in the future. Out of curiosity, where did you donate them?

        • +2

Sunshine Bendigo which is a local resource centre that re-homes new and pre-loved baby goods and nursery equipment to families in need.

I would definitely definitely buy them all to donate

    • Issue was there is a limit on baby formula. I had to get the person behind me at the checkout to purchase 3 tins for me to purchase 6.

Good job. Good heart. Hope the people who saw you grabbing those not thinking the wrong way, though its inevitable sometimes.

  • Great price

  • Marked for export for sure

To China I'm guessing @ 1000% mark up price.

      • +3

Nah, no one in china wants this brand

        • +4

          cos its a chinese brand!

I wouldn't give it to my cat; let alone a baby!!

Parent company: Biostime Pharmaceuticals (China) Limited

@airpoe: you do know bellamys is a chinese brand now as well right

            • @dasher86: I think the difference is bellamy is a western brand that was bought out by the chinese because the chinese mainlanders like the brand.

this brand is chinese from the get out and they seem to have a completely chinese board of directors… and the mainlanders dont like the brand.

You weigh the risks of what you feed to your kid fam.

              • +2

@tonyjzx: I think the point i am making here is that like Bellamys, Biostime is Australian made.

So you want to look further than brand ownership but look at the source of ingredients and manufacture location.

                • @dasher86: I dont doubt that any of these brands are safe. Further my experience has been that a significant proportion isnt even made here… its NZ or DE or FR or…

Like many people, some would rather their money not funnel back to the CCP.

                • @dasher86: It does not matter it's Australian made or not.
There was a very solid reason, which I don't think will ever change even if they are now making baby formula in Australia, why no Chinese want any Chinese brand baby formulas and trying to import directly from anywhere around the world.

                • @dasher86: Says "made in France, Normandy"… Plot thickens.

What is a good brand to buy?

Read the ingredients on this, seems par for the course. Nothing weird stood out.

            • @dasher86: Yes, I actually owned shares in Bellamy's when they were taken over by the Chinese company.

Good for my hip pocket but bad for Australia.

Sell the products but not the farm!

@airpoe: They own Swisse as well - yet everyone still seems to be buying Swisse vitamins.

@airpoe: China plus anything to do with milk is bad news

            • +1

@King Tightarse: didn't China Mengniu Dairy also recently purchase Lion Dairy?

              • @dasher86: China Mengniu Dairy Company Limited is buying Lion-Dairy and Drinks Pty Ltd (LDD) from Japan's Kirin Holdings Company Limited. Kirin and Lion said they considered all options for LDD, from a continuation of investment and retaining the business to a sale of LDD.Nov 25, 2019

                • @tonyjzx: Knew that; I don't buy dairy farmers milk anyway. Also less Vitasoy for me.

Once food stuff is owned by foreign countries like China which has lax regulations & their parent company will squeeze profits which will mean quality & standards are reduced.

          • @airpoe: Same as Swisse

        • You were absolutely right.
