        • Hi there,

This is why all dispatches were haltered

          OP

  • +6

I reckon it's time to start claiming refunds, this is getting ridiculous.

  • +4

    Order number: 10334

Please advise the status? Will this be supplued in 7 days?

If not, can i organise a refund.

    Thanks

  • +3

Congrats all! Happy two months of waiting for an order to ship.

Has anyone actually received a computer from these guys yet?

Credit card chargebacks typically have to be reported within 75 days of the transaction FYI for all those considering it. I certainly will not be accepting a 10% cancellation fee.

    • +2

Paypal charge backs are up to 6 months I think?

      • Yes 180 days.

        • +2

I asked for a refund over their facebook chat but got declined, so at the same time I submitted a dispute over Paypal.

I was told by them that they are replacing faulty PSUs, and that I will be receiving a tracking number today, which of course I didn't. No response from their facebook chat too.

Just wondering tho, I was told by the person on the chat that they've sent 3 email updates over the 7 weeks, but I only received one. Has anyone actually received anything more than the first one? (received Jul 18)

"I will find the emails if you would like but I can only show you certain parts due to privacy reasons"
That was their response to it. Don't really understand why I would received the first one but not the other two.

          • @praymeyer: I have only received one update from them.

Same as you told dispatch today; but nothing further.

          • @praymeyer: Yep only ever recieved one update email from them.

Also told shipping today, but havent got anything further

          • @praymeyer: 0 Email on my end and has been 2 month wait now. Best to open paypal case for a refund.

  • +4

Getting concerned about not receiving the goods. Seems someone posted a google review for them recently saying they received the computer but it was DoA.

Will do a chargeback with paypal tomorrow if nothing further occurs; after not getting any further information from them today…

  • +3

Has been over 3 month and did not received my order, do not recommend buying from cgb again.

Been asking for a refund for a month now and have been given the cold shoulder, opened paypal case, whom cgb gave a fake tracking number to on 13th for Express 1 day delivery but its 25th now and nothing.I have been in contact with paypal towards the scam.

    • +2

"I have your tracking number it's not active yet though as it hasn't been scanned" was the response I received from them.

They haven't responded back to my message since yesterday, really don't understand their way of doing business, unless they're actually tying to scam us.

I left a google review too, which is probably being processed right now.

I highly suggest everyone to also leave a google review, save fellow buyers the trouble of dealing with these guys. Absolutely shocking.

      • I left a review aswell, maybe if they see enough reviews they will try and contact customers to give us assurance our builds will be sent.

        • Chargeback process started.

Had to cancel my card though.

  • I paid via Visa Debit. Do they have buyer protection?

I have giving them enough opportunities to respond to me.

    Thanks.

    • +1

You will have buyer protection yes. Will need to lodge a chargeback before 75 days with your bank (or as per the T&Cs of your card)

  • +1

Update from me: so I got my tracking number last Monday, was told it was leaving an employee's house the same day. Found out about the faulty PSUs on here on Thursday and messaged them again, they did not actively inform me about this. Fast forward to two days ago and I received a tracking update on the same number, it had finally left Melbourne bound for Sydney. It showed up early this morning. I'm currently at work so haven't opened it yet, will get back to you all if there are any issues.

    Proof of delivery: https://imgur.com/a/9y2RsO6

    • +4

That's exciting news for you, and promising news for the rest of us who have not received anything! Interested in knowing the specs they added to your build!

    • Ya, please let us know if you got what you paid for.
I have been emailing, messaging and calling but could not get hold of anyone!

  • +5

Back again! Haven't been unable to start up the computer yet unfortunately as the CPU cooler had completely unclipped and I don't have any thermal paste at hand..

Photo along with CGB's response: https://imgur.com/a/x4HvJRm

Will post more specs and photos after dinner

    • +2

Thanks for the update, looking forward to the pics/specs!

As for the cooler, yep good idea to reapply thermal paste, however for now you can just put it back on. The heat should 'liquify' the paste and it'll work well enough until you recieve the replacement paste. Check the temps to make sure its not getting too hot (hw monitor is a good tool for that).

Dissappointing to see the only internal packaging is some cheap bags of air though. If the cooler came off and was flying around in the case, it can definitely cause damage.

  • +3

Late reply but got some more photos: https://imgur.com/a/lrjnDVx

So from what I've gathered, I've got:
    2 x 16GB Team Vulcan Z 3200MHZ DDR4 (TLZGD416G3200HC16CBK)
    1 x 1 TB Toshiba 1TB Sata (MQ04ABF100)
Haven't had a proper look at the SSD yet, but looks to be a 512gb Biostar branded one
    Biostar 5700XT EXTREME Triple Fan 8GB GDDR6
    Ryzen 5 3600
    VOLTRON GOLD 600 RGB PSU
    Deepcool Gamaxx 400 CPU Cooler
    Matrexx 55 Mesh Case

I paid for the 1TB upgrade, but have received the case upgrade and the CPU cooler upgrade for free.

    • +1

Thanks for sharing it with us. Providing updates better than the owner himself.

    • +2

If I recieve that PSU I won't be happy.

I'd ask them to ship me the correct one that they advertised.

      I paid for a "600W Gold 80+ PSU"

That "VOLTRON GOLD 600 RGB PSU" is not 80+ rated at all.

The manufacturers website doesnt list any 80+ certification, let alone 80+ Gold.

Plenty of information on the Linustechtips forums: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1143135-armaggedon-psu/

Note: to pre-empt any confusion, there is a discontinued "Voltron Gold 600 PSU" which is a full range 100-240V model that IS 80+ Gold certified, but the "Voltron Gold 600 RGB PSU" which you were supplied is a 230V only PSU that has no 80+ certification at all. Similar name, completely different PSU.

      • +2

I completely missed that.. thanks for pointing it out, I've messaged them. Will let you know what their response is.

This is just a big mess haha, like you want small companies to do well but my experience has been rotten so far.

      • I just checked my invoice and order information on their website but noticed that it doesn't specify which PSU I paid for?

This is whats shown on my invoice:

        5700XT 8GB w/ Ryzen 3600X 6-Core Processor Gaming & Workstation PC| EXO XT White
        SKU: EXOXT1TD4A1
        Storage: 512GB SSD + 1TB HDD
        CPU Cooler: Deepcool Gamaxx 400
        Operating System: Windows 10 Unactivated
        Case: Athena M1 Black
        Price: AU$1,685.00

I also paid for the 600W Gold 80+ PSU.

      • Quick update with their reply: https://imgur.com/a/373Gyn0

I'll get back to you all re: motherboard.

        • +1

          That's not true at all.

"It has gold in its name" doesn't mean it has 80+ Gold certification. That's a common tactic of cheap PSUs to mislead consumers. This PSU absolutely does not have 80+ certification of any sort. There is no mention on the manufacturers website of any 80+ rating.

"The main rail carries 450w" doesn't mean anything. The 80 Plus Gold rating meas that the PSU is rated for at least 87% efficiency at 20% load, 90% at 50% load, and 87% at 100% load.

At this point it sounds like they've put a cheap and nasty power supply in these machines and are trying to mislead all of us.

A cheap power supply can ruin your entire computer.

They can cheap out on anything else. But not the power supply. This is just dangerous.

Again. I'd ask them to prove this PSU is 80+ rated. And when they can't. Ask them to give you an 80+ gold rated psu.

        • +1

Additionally, "The main 12v rail carries 450w". It's a 600W PSU, a reputable PSU should carry approx. 550-600W

          eg.

          1) EVGA GQ 600W 80+ Gold
          - Carries 600W on the +12V rail.
          https://www.mwave.com.au/product/evga-600-gq-600w-80-gold-se…

          2) Antec Neo ECO GOLD ZEN 600W 80+ Gold
          - Carries 600W on the +12V rail.
          https://www.mwave.com.au/product/antec-neo-eco-gold-zen-600w…

          3) Corsair SF600 600W 80 Plus Gold
          - Carries 600W on the +12V rail.
          https://www.mwave.com.au/product/corsair-sf600-600w-80-plus-…

Even this cheap "Cougar" 600W psu which isnt even 80+ gold rated (it's 80+ white which is the lowest 80+ certification) does 588W on the 12v rail. https://www.mwave.com.au/product/cougar-xtc600-600w-80-white…

          • +1

@cheesecactus: Still in the process of talking to them.

            https://imgur.com/a/rKkKxoU

            • @qvntmflx: What a complete load of BS.

              "Do the calculations"
There is no efficiency data provided, so no you can't do the calculations.

              "Achieves a gold rating"
What is a "gold" rating. That doesn't mean anything.

Thanks for the updates! Good call contacting the manufacturer! At least that's clear proof it isn't an 80+ gold PSU.

            • @qvntmflx: Sorry to hear it’s such a sh*t show mate. Sounds like there will be others receiving this same power supply? Wondering what the resolution will be. Also, was it a Ryzen 5 3600, or 3600x?

              • @johnno1987: I'll check the Ryzen when I get home today :) haven't had a proper look since I first opened it up. Will be removing some of the thermal paste today, waiting for CGB to send me the replacement paste and the remover.

    • What motherboard is it?

      • +2

From what I can tell from phrober's images, the board looks like an Asus Prime B450 board.
If that's the case, none of the Asus Prime B450 boards come w/ AC Dual Band WiFi.

        https://www.asus.com/au/Motherboards/ASUS-Prime-Products/

CGB advertised the board will come with this feature.

        • +3

This was my next issue I just realised. They shipped a wifi dongle with the computer. I completely forgot until just now when I saw your comment.

          • +5

@qvntmflx: OMFG these guys are turning out to be scammers. Seriously if they cant provide what they have advertised surely they should have offered refunds. I pulled the pin on this because of built in wifi and energy efficient 80+ psu. Like most I have had one email to say it will be shipped on the 13th August lol!. I have sent them emails asking about the components but no response.

        • Yep I didn't get WiFi either. Just a dongle in the box. Got a very basic gigabyte board.

          • @elderprice: Surely all these “issues” are grounds for a PayPal dispute? Item significantly different than described.

You can also request partial refunds through PayPal and keep the item.

  • +6

Thanks sharing all this info phrober.

Just checking, what CPU were you supplied?
    Was it a Ryzen 5 3600 or Ryzen 5 3600X?
It should be the 3600X, which was the CPU advertised.
Theres' about a $70 difference between the them.
If they're supplying the lesser processor, this would cover their cost for the 'free' upgrades.

I've also been waiting since the 24th of June for this deal to be honoured.
Received a tracking number on Monday after several false promises and delays.
Still waiting for the shipping information to be submitted and delivery confirmed with Australia post.
All the stress and problems that have gone along with this deal is not worth the $200-$300 saving.

    • +1

      I got 3600x

      • Glad they supplied the correct CPU to you at least.
Are you able to upload any pics of the build you were sent?
        Motherboard, IO, PSU etc?

  • Who is the courier TNT?

  • +1

    So who's got their pc?

I'll be returning if mine doesn't have what was originally promised.

  • Further discussion with CGB on Facebook. I still haven't had a further look on the PC but I thought it was important to get you all to read this chat.

    https://imgur.com/a/WRDJuhJ

Highlight: "Ok, I understand your frustration, you can send the unit back to us and receive a refund if you would like, otherwise nothing else is happening"

"The Motherboard comes with "wifi" it is not onboard"

"The wifi is on the dongle, this is offered to eliminate issues with people needing wifi after they buy it with just Ethernet or don't purchase the upgrade"

    • +1

Wow. These guys need to be banned from ozbargain.

Chargeback if they refuse to pay for a courier and give you a full refund

  • I also got 3600X
The motherboard is an ASUS PRIME B450M-A (Not the Wi-Fi kind)

  • Are the majority here cancelling, or still waiting?

… And how are you being contacted?
    - Not responding to emails/phone calls
    - What does this imply about their warranty service if needed

    • +2

      Leave Google review
      Lodge PayPal dispute
      Send back if received
      Receive refund

    • I haven't received any emails in forever. All my contact has been on Facebook.

      • They're ignoring my Facebook messages too!

        • And mine, no response to multiple emails or messages left on mobile.

What else are we meant to do then cancel.

  • I’ve got the exact same setup as phrober.

  • +1

Hopefully the last part of the saga:

    https://imgur.com/a/ligZsJL

    • So sassy

    • So they agreed to give you a refund on the PSU if you return in (and you're gonna buy something yourself?) or they are sending you a different Replacement PSU once you return the one they sent?

      • +1

They gave me a full refund for the whole PC and I'm sending it back to them on Wednesday.

        • How are they return shipping it?

Be careful of other scammy tactics ie. "The computer got damaged in transit, now you have to pay" etc.

Good to hear theres some outcome at least.

Dont know what that means about my order that hasnt shipped yet…. might just paypal claim it now

          • @cheesecactus: Yeah i put as much extra padding in there as I could and took photos. Not sure, I assume it's through Auspost.

            • @qvntmflx: Glad you're getting a refund and they finally admitted on messenger that they ARE supplying a PSU without 80+ certification, and what they are doing is misleading.
It's disappointing they are still being misleading over the motherboard w/AC dual band wifi.

Manufacturers clearly label their motherboard products/ads if it has dual band wifi. It's a selling point.
CGB knows this as worded their ad to suggest/mislead you to think it does come on the board.

If they stated the TRUTH in their ad originally, it would have read "Motherboard: B450 AM4 Motherboard w/ included AC Dual Band WiFi 'DONGLE' "
              OR
Listed the wifi dongle SEPARATELY to the motherboard, but they did not do that.
It is blatantly worded to be misleading and the onus is not on the customer to prove that.

Quoted directly from the ACCC site
"It makes no difference whether the business intended to mislead you or not. If the overall impression left by a business’s advertisement, promotion, quotation, statement or other representation creates a misleading impression in your mind—such as to the price, value or the quality of any goods and services—then the behaviour is likely to breach the law."

              https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/advertising-promotions/fal…

If they told the truth about what they were selling in the original ad I would not have purchased a PC from them.

If you received the PC and expected integrated wifi on the motherboard but got a inferior wifi usb dongle, you also have the the right to get a full refund.

        • They told me someone was coming to pick up my PC on 27/08. But no one came and they haven't responded to my last 2 follow up emails since.

  • +5

Lodged a dispute on paypal and got a refund within few hours.

    • Oh wow, how did it get processed so quickly?
Did you lodge the dispute as not received product or item significantly different than described?

      • Just checked my Paypal as well, it's also been processed. I've yet to return the computer and have not lodged a dispute. Listed as pending for the moment.

    • yo what? i lodged my claim on thursday but i somehow clicked on ‘item significantly different to what was described’ instead of ‘item not received’. on top of that the description i wrote didn’t go through or something so i had to edit the case and type it up again.

still havent got my refund :(

    • can u please explain how u lodged the dispute if u have time because i don’t seem to be able to :(

    • +1

      Hi guys,

I just went through paypal dispute.

      Steps:
      1. login to paypal
      2. activity
      3. find the transaction and click it
      4. it should expand and at the bottom you'd find "report a problem"
      5. and choose the selection that is appropriate for you. For me I did not receive the order and was ignored despite phonecalls / emails and facebook messages.

The refund has not reached my bank account but i have already received an email from CGB solutions saying that my order is cancelled. I expect a couple of business days before the fund arrives my account.

      • So lucky; my paypal dispute hasnt moved… i lodged it last wednesday 26th.

        • +1

Got issued the refund today from Paypal, after the case being closed in my favor.
I lodged the dispute on the 21st, so yours should also get resolved most likely this week.
Hope everything gets resolved as it should.

          Never again…

  • +4

How do we go about blacklisting these guys?

I think what CGB has done violates a couple of OZBargain's forum rules and regulations,

"MAKE sure there is sufficient quantity."
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:rules_guidelines

Clearly, CGB has oversold on their original stock and has taken orders on product they did not have in stock.
This can be the only reason why we are still waiting for over two months for correct stock, with poor to zero communication from CGB, and lack of a timely delivery.

      Also, CGB's behaviour may breach OzBargains proper use policy;

"1. use the Service to upload, transmit or otherwise distribute any content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, fraudulent, obscene, contains viruses, or is otherwise objectionable as reasonably determined by OzBargain "

      and
" 5. use the Service for any fraudulent or inappropriate purpose; "

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:terms

but that's for the moderators to decide.

I can understand that the Covid-19 pandemic is causing some stock and logistics problems for businesses, but there are zero excuses for poor communication, ignoring customers, being intentionally vague, misleading or deceptive, and providing parts to customers counter to what was advertised.

      • Agree these guys need to be banned. They’re arguing they never advertised the mobo was built in wifi.

        • Product has been removed from their site now.

          • +2

            @johnno1987: I've got screenshots:

            http://imgur.com/a/FqijVMv

            Motherboard with AC wifi.

If they write it like that, the understanding is the motherboard itself comes with wifi, not via and additional piece of hardware

  • Has anyone received any updates since? When I asked about the order for an update they just say "we cannot give you an update on this", after that they just ignore my messages and emails as per usual

    • +3

Do yourself a favour and request a refund right away.

      • Thanks, I'll settle for the PayPal refund now then.

        • My guess is they can't deliver what was advertised, for the price they advertised.

They're basically hoping we request refunds now as it seems they've stopped shipping them.

As a side note, seems like the best way to get a 'response' from them is to leave a Google review.

          http://imgur.com/a/VON8Jue

          • @cheesecactus: It does appear that they are choosing to refund people who raised a dispute. It just seems rather stupid in why they can't send an email for an option for this.

But then again, I am no longer surprised by their lack of communication given how misleading they can be.

            • @Hendiggity: Raising a PayPal dispute should be the last resort for consumers.

There's someone in the other thread who paid by bank transfer. What are they meant to do if CGB aren't responding to them?

              • @cheesecactus: I sent them an email requesting a refund after paying by card and not being able to supply for 2+ months. No response.

                • +1

@granthamana: Just received a Facebook message that they are refunding the remaining orders. Hopefully you will get yours soon!

                  • +1

@Hendiggity: Are they actually refunding all the remaining orders? With these guys you just never know. I've emailed them numerous times, and unfortunately no response :(

                    • +3

@Ash Mantle: They said they will but I'm going to PayPal claim regardless. Can't trust them to start telling the truth now

                      • +1

@cheesecactus: Good call, mate, and definitely can't trust them anymore unfortunately.

I've just been off the phone to the Commbank and raised a chargeback dispute, Commbank are happy to act on my behalf, and hopefully your banks will hopefully resolve this matter for you as well. For those still waiting for refunds, I urge you to actively seek a PayPal claim or credit card chargeback. Best wishes, all!

  • I feel like they don't want their computer back, asked for a courier to be booked for today and haven't heard anything 🤷‍♂️

    • Ask for a return shipping label.

      • Well technically that's what I did. They said they would get it to me yesterday..

They've provided me with a return shipping label.

  • Has anyone received their refund? I was informed yesterday that my refund had been processed. Nothing has hit my account. Was a bank transfer. Does it take more than 24 hours?

    • Yes, received a full refund yesterday.
I had no contact from CGB, so I'm not sure if it was from them or if it was the chargeback I requested from my credit card provider.

In the time it's taken waiting for CGB, I've learned how to complete a PC parts build instead.
Never going to purchase from a small backyard provider like them again.

I'm just glad this drama is over with a positive outcome.
Hope you get your refund soon.

Just a heads up guys if you still haven't requested refunds: I found the guy on Facebook that runs the business and he's friends with at least 5 of the people that left 4/5 star reviews on Google.

  • Paypal refunded me; I had to wait 10 days for my case to be resolved as CGB did not respond at all…

Still waiting re: chargeback with Visa.

Will look at other avenues for compensation as im not going to kiss goodbye $1700. Re: ACCC, fair trade you name. Anyone i can for all involved.

    • I am still waiting for visa chargeback too. My bank says up to 45 days on the form. On the positive side by the time I get money back the new nvidia GPU's will be released and are reportedly superior.

    • I am also waiting for a chargeback. PC was DOA (because of the PSU issue), I found a piece of plastic in the GPU fan and one of the USB ports in the back was covered by the metal flap. They also gave me the case I told them I did not want and given the miadvertisement of the motherboard/PSU discussed here, I have asked for a refund. They organised courier using Sendle but Sendle has failed to pick up at 3 scheduled times and CGB have not followed up or responded to subsequent emails (it's been almost 3 weeks now). I have raised the issue to Consumer Affairs Victoria already.
