Pretty standard prices for most of these. Can't see the bargain?

None of this seems that cheap

  • Too much whiskey for op?

I'm not sure any of these are bargains?

    Glen Grant $44.95

you should never compare with masterofmalt prices,

shipping is $40 odd per bottle, plus GST+ other taxes if they are above a certain limit or if they get stopped by customs, since theyre all coming from UK

If you are serious, you have little experience in finding an accurate Australian price for whisky.

  • Don't really see a bargain.

Correct me if I am wrong though.

They're repeatable findable bargains, not best ever prices. Lagavulin 16 for 100 is pretty darn good these days, even though it could be found for 75 or 85 only a couple of years ago.

20% off eBay Dan Murphy's was better. Laphroaig for 64 for example (80 - 20%).

If you can get it anywhere cheaper, I would not necessarily be surprised. But I'd also not be surprised if these are the lowest available prices at the moment, even if only by a few dollars. Rules say that's enough to constitute a bargain.

      • I managed to snag the Lagavulin 16 off ebay for $79.92

Its unfortunate that Dan's still has stock of most of the good Scotches on their own website, but mostly no restocking on ebay…

        • Wow well done. Almost everyone else failed. You must have got in early?

@ozbjunkie: Was around lunchtime on Tuesday 16th.. I think it had just come back in stock and had dropped another $5 from memory?

            Too much shopping lately 😂

    insert Ron Swanson reference

  • Since Jura stopped making superstition, they no longer have anything worth drinking. I've got a bottle of 12 due to how much I loved the superstition. I regret the purchase. I've tried their current line up at a whisky festival.. No session whiskies and no firecrackers. It's all a yawn now.

    • I liked the superstition as well, but even that was not great. Jura is very underwhelming.

I'd spruik the Ardbeg for a similarly priced peated option. Much stronger flavour though.

      • Which? Uigedail is great but anything too peated is not a session drink imho. That's where superstition really shined

Totally agree all other Jura is underwhelming

        • Just recommending the Ardbeg 10. Not really a session I'd agree.

I prefer the corryvreckan over the uigedail.

For a session that's peated and somewhat like the superstition I'd recommend ledaig 10 (which I don't drink because it gives me a bit of a headache for some reason, it's good whisky but some compound doesn't agree with me).

I'm not very well versed in bruichladdich or bunnahabain (sp) but you might find something lightly peated there too.

For a super smooth session which is unpeated it recommend singleton of Dufftown 12, or the tamdhu.

Let me know if I can help in any other way, or if you have any favourites you'd like to share :)
