Vive Wireless Adapter (Full Kit) $529 (Was $600) + Shipping @ PC Case Gear

70

Normally $600, very hard to find any deals of Vive stuff lately. Found this while checking if the Vive Pro is back in stock.

Should be compatible with Vive Pro, Cosmos and Cosmos Elite without any additional purchases.

Please note that these have been reported to require a powerful CPU, so a recent Intel or AMD CPU i5/r7 or better is recommended.

The HTC Vive Wireless Adapter Full Pack for Pro Cosmos offers a near-zero latency VR experience that's fast, responsive and offers maximum performance. It features a lightweight design and a battery life of up to 2.5 hours. Backed by a 1 year VIVE warranty.

Highly recommend one of these. Wireless VR is next level, and there's no latency at all compared to Vive wired.

Whilst wireless VR is awesome, for the price of one of these you could almost buy a Oculus Quest and virtual desktop for a wireless VR experience.

Bit of faffing about if you don't have an ideal wifi setup, but you get a truly wireless standalone headset as well as the PC linking option.

Correct, no doubt wireless is a game changer, but the price of this is just too high.

You also need a spare PCIe slot.

So if you have an ITX motherboard-based gaming PC with a graphics card capable of driving the Vive, you probably can't use it because of the card size.

I'm not going to pay 530 dollars for the privilege of not having to move a cable every now and then.

  • Can confirm what OP mentioned about CPU requirements. I was running an older gen CPU which worked fine when going wired but ran like shit when I installed the wireless adapter.

Is this the whole thing, or just a wireless adapter?
That's a big price for an adapter - do they think they're Apple?
