Toyota Kluger CD Stacker Not Ejecting Cds

Hi all,

Just wanted to find out if anyone has encountered a situation where the cd stacker won't eject the cds. My car stereo does not eject cds anymore and I can't play any cds that are stuck inside it.

Is there something I can try other than buying a new unit altogether.

Does it have the tiny hole (giggity) in which you can stick in a paperclip to manually eject?

    • There is a small hole there, but I have no idea what it's for.

That's okay, mate, that's why we're here. Get an object like a paperclip that can fit inside the hole and give it a solid poke (giggity again). If that's unclear, search YouTube for "manually eject a cd".

        • Thanks… Here is the photo of the unit with the hole next to the green phone button..

@RSmith: No, not that hole (giggity for a third time). Check your actual stacker that contains the CDs.

@kahn: No idea where the stacker is…

              • @RSmith: Have you been listening to the car's previous owner's music so far? :-)

Check the car owner's manual or search the web for a solution because the paperclip trick won't help with the playback issues. Also, are there actually any CDs in the stacker? I'm confused.

                • @kahn: I am the original owner of the car… And yes, there are 6 discs stuck in there.

CD player doesn't play anything anymore.

Also, I have the owner's manual, but says nothing about removing stuck discs.

              @kahn: It's an indash stacker

    • Slot loads don't have holes.

    What's a CD?

It's like a DVD you buy at a gas station.

That hole has nothing to do with the stacker. I wouldnt be putting anything into it.

My BA XR6 has the same type of stacker. CD's got jammed and wouldnt eject. Had to remove the whole unit from the dash to get the CD's out. Worked for a day and did it again.

In the end I replaced the entire unit.

AUX cable like you're already using :) Spoil yourself and upgrade to Bluetooth while you're at it https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33046270711.html

I've had something similar a few years ago, usually the loading mechanism inside breaks, so you either have to repair or replace the unit.

Mechanical bits, plastic and a hot car interior mean that mechanisms don't last forever :(

  • If I go down the path of replacing the head unit, which one would you guys recommend? Need at least Apple carplay.

Then get the one with Apple car play.

      • Thanks for the advice

      • im awarding this comment of the day ;)

        • Slow news day huh

  • With some stackers, I think it was Suzuki but can’t remember, if you pull the stereo fuse or disconnect the battery it would then spit out the cds when you reconnect the power.
Not sure if this is common but might be worth a try?

    • Thanks. Will give it a try.

  • Time for a new head unit.
