A few days ago, my next door neighbour texted me a few pics of his front door frame being destroyed by White Ants. He got the inspection done yesterday and they are going to do some kind of treatment in their property (around it?, underneath, I dunno exactly how it works really).
We live in units which share only my garage wall. The garage doesn't have a timber structure afaik, even the roof is some kind of metal alloy.
I'm kind of worried…
What are my options? what should I do next?
If there is no timber no worries. Check around the area for any left over timber as this will attract them to your property. They can travel up to 100m for a feed. You can look around the base for small mounds against the wall as a point of entry. If your really concerned get the same inspector your neighbour is using to check your property. Be aware that the inspector may take advantage of you due to your concern. The ants are attracted to timber. Not metal or brick.
