Melbourne - Where do you buy your sliced roast beef and for how much per kg?

Hi all,

I usually make my own roast beef, but have been short of time lately and have been making do with sliced roast beef from my local deli or coles. Prices average between $24 pkg (local deli) and $27 pkg (coles), and the quality is often variable.

Having not had time to browse my local shops, I was wondering where most people get it from and the average price you pay. If anyone has a good, reasonably price supplier on the Carlton/Brunswick/Coburg/Preston side of Melbourne (fortunately not in a lockdown suburb btw!), I'd be interested to know!

Thank you!

I sometimes buy the premium rare roast beef from Woolies deli. Never really took notice at the price.

With talk like that you’ll never get upgraded to a premium OzB membership…

Lol. When good food is involved, price is not an issue. I find value in other stuff.

Should be something decent at Preston markets.

  • Just buy roast beef and slice your own, the taste has nowhere to hide!
