Best Price for RM Williams Comfort Craftsman Boots

Looking for a pair of chestnut comfort craftsmans in a 10.5 with H width

Cheapest I can find today is https://www.gooleys.com.au/rm-williams-comfort-craftsman-boo… at $489 (Which BTW the same store have the signatures listed for $750 (usually $1k ) so $250 / 25% off is good if I was looking for that )

I've seen them here as low as 395 and sometimes for 404.46 + 20k Qantas points.

Just wondering where I should watch. there's no rush on this purchase.

Take a squiz at Nungar and David Jones.

    • Thanks,
nothing yet at either but I hadn't heard of Nungar and they didn't show in google shopping results.
I'll keep tracking both along with qantas store and gooleys

Suggest avoid gooleys, purchased last week and till today still hasn't shipped after 3 calls. Was quick to confirm they have stock before my purchase, but no action on shipping once paid. Was told "tomorrow" for shipping on every call, and I'm done with "tomorrow" now, and just lodged a PayPal case today and hopefully escalate to a claim next week for a refund.

Maybe it's just me, but having to chase on my purchase every other day to hear same excuse and nothing done is not what I can tolerate.

Definitely Nungar if they have your size. Call up first. Steve was quick to address my order but unfortunately he doesn't have my size in stock and was prompt to let me know.

Got my Comfort crafstmen from The Iconic for $476 with a cash back from shopback for $95. So cost $381

    • They list today as 595 so you got a bargain. Nice

I'd say Qantas store is the best, when they have a 20-25% off sale.
When I purchased they hadn't increased the price to be new RRP of $595. It was still equivalent to old RRP of $545

    Depends what you're after:

Nungar is probably your best bet for most of the lineup, excluding seasonals. Note there can be a significant MTO Delay if you are going for something that isn't core, and I've found communication to be very spotty.

Comfort Craftsman in their regular yearling Colours, I'd also be looking at Allingtons/Port Phillip Shop/Boots Online/TheStableDoor, but Ebay discounts also pop up every so often.

For some of the slightly irregular lineup, eg. Natural Craftsmans, Kangaroo, other MTO stuff like Nutmeg CC's, I like Port Phillip Shop and TheStableDoor.

For seasonals (eg. I've been chasing a pair of discounted Khaki Suede Comfort Turnouts), keep an eye on sites like Lyst or any fashion price tracking website. @emblurr has mentioned TheIconic as well, they'll run regular sales particularly on seasonal items. David Jones actually has good sales too, but the stock is sporadic at best and a limited range, and it's mostly on the less desired boots in RM's lineup.

Also don't discount US websites like Nordstrom/Ssense/East Dane, especially for the harder to find stuff. If you're chasing a pair of Comfort Craftsman in Chestnut they're going to disappear basically immediately, but I picked up a really unique pair of suede Comfort Turnouts a few weeks back for AUD$360 plus shipping and they're one of my favourites in the collection.

If you can get a price below AUD$450 you're doing well. I'd suggest keeping a notification alert here for "RM Williams" and also checking out /r/goodyearwelt as there's a great Steals and Deals thread stickied each week where people put up sales.

    • Brilliant response, thanks for the detailed advice!

Given the economic climate, if you can wait, then you might get a "warehouse" sale like this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/256450

You'll have to be prepared to get out of work, etc., and get there pronto, because they'll sell out in a couple of hours.

With the 10% off newsletter it became $225.

On the other hand, this could have been a unicorn.

    • wow, yeah probably a unicorn.
      Also in QLD

Prepared to wait but this seems unlikely

  • Bit the bullet and Nungar got me the comfort craftsman’s in chestnut size 10.5 width H for $445

That’s 44 less than the cheapest price I could find at Gooleys and $140 less than the $598 I would have spent if I made the purchase in any local shopping mall.

They have the regular yearling craftsman for 398 so I bet I could have gotten the extra $47 off the comfort if I waited patiently and my size came up ( a full $200 off RRP)

For anyone chasing the signatures, they are currently $750 at gooleys and $250 off RRP is the best around including from Nungar who list them for (I think) 770

Personally, I need that comfort sole in case of wet tiles / concrete.

    Thanks everyone!

  • they are selling some on ebay right now for $399
