its good that i bought wish gift card at 5.5% last week. Thanks OP.

  • Great price for a great set

  • +1

Wish I could afford a real one, love the new Defender

    • Careful what you wish for. The initial purchase price is only half the fun……hmmmmmm

    • +2

Nu Defender looks like the ugly off-spring of Disco 3 and a Real Defender.
      R.I.P. Real Defender.

    Rav4s
    Better

  • +9

One thing for sure, this is more reliable than the real model XD

    • I don't know, the gearbox is a bit weird.

At least this thing won't cost a fortune to service, and won't depreciate to worthless in 5 years like the real thing.

      • LEGO has resale?

        • +3

Not sure if joking or serious.

Lego has the best resale of any toy or hobby I can think of.

          • +1

            @t3chshopper: Usually goes up too.

          • +1

@t3chshopper: Genuine question, haven’t used LEGO since I was a kid building brick houses and fences.

Looking forward to my Defender arriving next week!

          • @t3chshopper: I'm referring to the real thing, i.e the car you can actually drive.

Yes, Lego can actually go up in valve.

    • Dunno mate, I built one, damn things leaking oil already ;)

  • is this cheapest so far???

    • +2

It was 230 on Amazon before.
Looks like an awesome set for 239 though

      • Yeah after watching few YouTube videos was eyeing on this one but wasn't sure is this cheapest or wait until December

    • Was this price at Costco last year

  • Can someone explain to me how people use these? Do you make the model and then just leave it out? Or do most people then take it apart to combine with other sets to make new creations?

    • +5

It's the pleasure of putting it together and watching it as a pride after you have completed….that's me how i look at it….

    • +1

Both, depending on the set. Something like would go into my display with the dozens of other similarly sized Lego vehicles, but would come down for playing whenever the actual kids want it or whenever I want to demonstrate a particular function.

But other sets we buy, enjoy the look and build, then dismantle and integrate into all the other Lego we have for free building.

Basically bragging rights in your man cave or at work.
Personally nothing better than dropping $750 on lego and running out of desk space as you try to work around your monstrosity such as this https://www.lego.com/en-au/product/liebherr-r-9800-excavator…

  • and gone

  • Are they in a specific scale? 1:18? I'm thinking about starting a collection :)

    • +1

      1/16th scale I think

  • Well done to the 2 people who got this deal.

    • +1

      Belmont have stock in Perth

    • +1

      delivery is still available

  • -1

Ordered one, paid for pick up at store. Any chance I will get canceled?

  • This is the same price I bought many months ago.

  • Seems to be out of stock now :(

  • Disappointing that it’s already out of stock, but I’ve been looking for something like this to have some fun with for a couple of hours an evening so ordered it for $263 delivered from Target.

  • waiting for the INEOS Grenadier version.

    • Surely the real deal will be $100k+ interesting to see when it comes to Australia.. if….

  • I've been watching youtube review videos on it. Looks like a fun built. By the time I decided to buy it, all sold out. Oh well.

    • +1

You'll be ready to jump next time. :)

I enjoyed this build. Took me about 12hrs and then 2 hours to tear down and fix. 😅 Couple of minor mistakes caused gear clacking. But that's all part of the fun.

      • And Technic can be such a paint to pull apart! ALl those damns pins…

But like you said, all part of the fun.

  • -1

This thing needs to go lower. Technic 30% off minimum. Ideally 40%

  • It's unfortunate that the drivetrain doesn't actually power the wheels at all.

  • Still showing as low stock in SA, only some stores…(eg: Gawler showing low stock)

  • Is there a little oil-leak puddle made of LEGO blocks to make it an authentic Land Rover experience?

  • Picked one up from Ellenbrook WA today.

  • There is one or more at
