Blocked Stores - Limit of 50 Stores

I have 50 stores blocked as they're not relevant to me, and now I can't block any new stores.

For those wondering, I don't drink tea or coffee and want to block stores that are exclusively for coffee and tea. But there are a lot of them (in addition to a few other random stores I have blocked).

Is there a reason for the limitation? Can it be raised to 255 or something?

  • Why 255?

      It's the broadcast store.

Its a common character limit? "The maximum number of characters is 255." So maybe he's a programmer?

      • A programmer would know to set this value as an integer!

        • Yeah, an 8-bit integer :)

    • OP is in the 8-bit world :D

2^8 - 1 = 255. Powers of 2 are common in computing including sizes of memory cards.

    • Because 254 is not enough

  • Perhaps exclude by tag instead of store - you'll get wider coverage that way. I imagine it would start to get kind of expensive to check a "large" exclusion list every time the deal list is loaded.

  • Tag exclusion is even more expensive. Yes — store blocking limit is there for a reason because te queries are more taxing to the backend. 50 is just an arbitrary number that I think should be enough for most people but maybe it's not the case.

    • Is Tag exclusion a universal settings or would it be possible for someone to apply for a 'limit increase' on a case by case basis?

    • Is there a 50 person limit on the number of people you can block? 🤔

      • Yes.

I’ll let you know, I’m almost at that limit. :D

      • There is also a 50 person limit on the number of people who can block you

I can't recall the last time I saw a tea- or coffee-only store on the front page…

Someone might have a GreaseMonkey or similar script for your web browser to filter them out on the client side?

Must be talking about those independents that offer coffee or probably fitness (protein) in some sort of deal. I mean, is there something really wrong with scrolling?

Chatime, T2, directcoffee, Starbucks, there's literally hundreds of these stores, with at least one on the front page every day or 2.

Perhaps a more elegant solution is to add a category for 'caffeinated beverages' so that I can then filter by category.

        I scrolled back ~6 pages to Saturday, 27 June 2020 - over a week ago - and didn't see a single one.

Install this https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/word-replacer-ii/d… and replace the words "coffee" and "tea" with "eneloop" and "quilton" :)
