Most Eufy stuff still doesn’t have Apple HomeKit though…

      • +1

it's said to have a firmware update to support HomeKit later this year.

    • +1

Purchased a 4K 2-pack in the last deal. They are not worth the reputation or money. Check the forums and in particular the take note of activity zone issues.

      • Eufy or Arlo not worth the reputation?

        • Sorry. Arlo.

  • Wish they stocked the arlo lights range

  • +1

    No 4 pack. Bugger.

As mentioned in the other RACV deal, BUYER BEWARE! I'm still out of pocket $178.80!

I am STILL WAITING for a refund from the 40% off code fail that RACV Smart Home SmartThings had back on May 19th. I had to do forms with my bank for charge backs and have only received money for one. BEWARE buying from the RACV store, your money can disappear into the NETHER!!!!

    • Agreed, my order from earlier today is in limbo - will keep updates but it’s not looking good :/

    • You can always reverse charge .

      • I did, after calling RACV and being told to email an address and getting no reply. NAB then required me to submit an online form and then an email and then a hand-written scan, and even after then they (profanity) it up and only refunded one of my transactions so the other is still in limbo.

All this because the RACV web store takes your paypal money but doesn't create an order/tax invoice leaving you with no evidence of a transaction other than money leaving your account.

        • +1

All this because the RACV web store takes your paypal money

If it was through PayPal then why didn’t you just do a chargeback through PayPal instead? It would’ve been way easier.

        • Are you sure RACV accepts PayPal

          • @akula: You're right, they don't. I meant credit card money.

I actually got the second chargeback yesterday so it's all sorted now. Only took a month and a half and 5 or 6 contacts from me.

  • I managed to get Bunnings online store to price match a precious RACV deal on the Arlo 2 4 camera system. From memory it was only a 25% code when I did it, but worth a try.

    • You definitely can. Have done this with the previous deal.

      • My local Bunnings doesn’t stock the 4 camera kit unfortunately.

It's a special orders item, they should be able to get it in if you email them

    • +2

My Bunnings only ever price match items they have in stock. No orders. And definitely not something that is out of stock.

      • Yeah I don't think Bunnings would personally price match something and special order it unless their price beat specifies special orders.

      • My Bunnings does price match special orders. So perhaps shop around different stores.

  • great price on arlo pro 2 kit, thanks OP

    • Ive got a Pro2 set up at our weekender courtesy of a good Aldi clear out of a pack that hadnt sold. Its been pretty good except for being too sensitive and recording when a tree branch blows. Might pick up another Arlo 2 Pro for my everyday house. Battery life Ive found to be great and I now know the limitations.

      • I have original Arlo setup and while I have couple of issues with it, overall it's not that bad after careful setup.
My main problems are short battery lifespan and missed few seconds from start of the recording. Apparently Arlo pro 2 is much better in that respect.

  • Officeworks price match possible?

  • So I've been looking into buying a two pack of the Eufy 2c cameras would the Arlo Pro 2 Smart Security Kit (2 Camera pack) be a better option?

I don't know too much about the Arlo Products but there RRP seems to be like a third more would love some more information on the products

I just wanna warn the new Arlo customers. Be aware that Arlo has gone nuts in customer service and support. Read their community forums before buying. They bait and switch plans. Make sure you are ok with their new plans and please compare it with new Nest plans. If the package comes with smart premier plan…whatever you do make sure you don't cancel after an year.

    • +1

Ive only got a couple of pro 2s but I find the free plan OK with using local storage. If I was going to have more than 3 or so, or higher res cameras Id probably go for a proper NVR setup.
Would only buy Arlos with deep discounts, RRP is ridiculous!

  • +4

I got an Arlo Ultra. Would never buy again, no matter how good the deal is. You will forver be trying to fix them, or they won't work when you need it.

    Eufy all the way!

    • Do you need a subscription plan with Eufy?

      • +2

No sub, because it's local storage.

  • +1

the activity/ sensor zones are terrible. Can have someone walk straight up to it and wont pick them up. Only if they go across the camera will it then recognize movement.

  • Guys, don't buy Arlo! I hate my 4k cameras. They are slow, software is buggy. So many small issues which are going to annoy you everyday.
My Nest doorbel is way better. Haven't tried other products but others are definitely cheaper. Arlo is a waste of money.

  • IMHO the Pro 2 are the best of the ARLO range, i have 5 working and have very few issues. Can store locally on USB and free 7 days cloud. You can adjust the sensitivity so that they wont trigger for trees etc. pretty sure that all the wireless cameras will have some initial lag, even
RING has huge problems with their stuff. They wont be as good as wired cameras, but I like being able to move them wherever i want. And you pair the cameras with a range of lights.

    • I found this video on youtube, this guy compares original arlo to pro 2. Apparently huge improvement.

Has anyone received any updates or their actual order yet? I bought the solar panel but since the order confirmation I’ve heard nothing.

    • +1

Same here. Really would like to know more about the delivery. I have contacted their Facebook and got a reply with "To get an update on your order, please call our specialist team on 13 27 56 ." A tracking number would be nice for orders like this.

  • +1

Same here, no communication whatsoever. Beginning to worry here… I can't find their email contact anywhere, might have to call.

  • if you guys wondering where is your order, best to call them.
they shipped my stuff 1 week after ordered, ask them for a tracking number.
