  • Is this company based in Australia or where?
    Since the web site doesn't show a physical address also the "customer service" tab doesn't go anywhere!

    • We are international with manufacturing facilities in AU, CA, U.S and in Europe. Myself personally I am in Vancouver, Canada (Fun time difference!).

      I believe if we are looking at the same tab you would need to select one of the drop down options. The number in store profile is for customer service if you are looking for it.

    Dunno why the rep just didn't tell you the address though.

    But if you are asking if it is an Australian company, it is not.

    • Not hiding the address or anything, the Company is international in its operations and online in its form. Our headquarters are in Vancouver.

    • Well, before I make "any" web transaction I always take my precautions so for the web site to easily display company's address is a must.
      Maybe the web site isn't well organised as usually the address is under "contact us" or "about us".

      • It is under Contact Us and in the FAQ. You will notice its a Green box called Contact Information on the right of the page side along with a thumbnail picture of some of the people that work here.

  • silly question can you claim back on health fund if you buy from these guys?

    • Currently we are in the process of getting a provider number with Medibank. All a go on the rest.

      It is not a silly question at all.

      I lost over $200 from these guys when I bought from these guys years ago. Of course they neglected to mention that claiming from a health fund wasn't allowed since they are an overseas company (odd since they are "Australia's Optical Store").

      I cannot recommend strongly enough not dealing with these guys. Their deceptive website, coupled with their lack of desire to resolve issues, left an incredibly sore taste in my mouth.

        I am sorry that you had this experience, I do not know why this would have happened as we always have customer service come first (not a sales pitch, our customer service team is in house, in headquarters and are all great people).

        If you are interested in sending me a PM I would be happy to talk this over and see if we can somehow make up for this experience.

          I also checked my records, and my earlier post said > $200 but in fact it was > $120. Mistake on my part.

    • I've rang HBF before and they advised only contacts are claimable….but I've only bought glasses from them so can't confirm but they were great and got to me super quick (considering it's from another country!). best you ring your insurance provider and check :)

  • HATE these people my Ray-Ban glasses came with a broken nose hinge, I requested a replacement immediately…, was told no stock, so I said ok give me a refund(8 weeks and counting), a PayPal dispute was opened after the 1st week which was denied…, I am still waiting for my refund. WORST people to deal with, NEVER AGAIN !

    I normally pay $45 for a month and a half worth of contacts with health benefits. Bought 2 boxes each for my girlfriend and I and it cost $75 each for 6 months worth before claiming with our health insurance company!

    Definitely going to be a new regular!
