    Bummer about the 110v requirement.

    • +1

12V1A, at worst just replace the power brick (assuming its not just a copy/paste US/AU issue)

    • +2

The 110volt must be a error as you can't legally sell 110v products in Australia.

      • Selling goods that use 110v in Australia isn't unlawful. We have about a dozen charger rated at 100v to ~240v from major Australian retailers.

Wireless-N and 100Mbps ethernet - welcome to the future!

      VPN throughput (IPSec): 5 Mbps

      oof..

      • +2

Agree. No 5GHz. Outdated and not exactly latest specs.

    • +2

LNP's NBN forward thinking. 50Mbps is enough for everyone!

    Junk

Perfect for out of date gov IT systems :)

  • Wireless N is sooo 2005…

    How’s this a deal?

  • +3

I have seen fossils with better specs

  • Wow that's ancient. From 2013. At least it's still supported: https://software.cisco.com/download/home/284436489/type/2824…

  • +1

I know this is commercial not consumer router but who the heck would be buying this ancient specs?

    • +1

For a Cisco router, and a managed switch supporting VLANs + Wi-Fi. This isn't such bad deal for a small business which is the target market here. Only being 100mbit ethernet is the limiting factor, but could be suitable for a smaller business that doesn't have high data concurrent throughput requirements.

Can I connect my Commodore 64 to this?

Edit: perhaps a serious question, is there a more recent model with better specs?

    • SERIOUSLY, WIFI is available on C64. i need to get the module myself.

  • Welcome to 2008 fellas

  • +2

It's been end of sale since December 2019, software support ends December 2020: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/routers/sm…

Even for small businesses, there are better options out there.

This is a real junk. I bought it few years ago and used. Doesn't have IOS and url filtering didn't work.
