Martell Cognac Cordon Blue 700ml Two for $370 Delivered @ Matthews Liquor (Price Matched $368 @ Dan Murphy)

120

Matthewsliquor.com.au is showing $185 so i rang Dans and asked for a price match. Cheapest ever. I bought two.

I asked the consultant to update the price online but not sure why he was not keen of doing that.

Dan's got it on 'members special' for $230 a bottle, lol.

    • Just saw it today in a bootleshop at Cabramatta for $199.

  • Good job, dunno how you managed to get it done. I thought dans online don’t price match online? Actually I’m sure someone will report this post as price match not a deal or something…

Why price match? Why not support the original business giving the discount?

If small business shuts, who will Dan's ever have to price match? Honestly.

    • Assuming 5% off woolworths gift card and whatever cashback % from cr/sb, he'll save another 8-10%

I understand all of that, as long as the deal survives long enough to get the price match.

But as I said, when all these small retailers go, the majors will smash everyone on pricing.

        • Something, something… Bunnings

    • Cant agree more with you. Rookie mistake i made. Will you please order something from them so that i wont feel so guilty now, my fellow ozb…cheers

Yeah, no idea why corporate websites don't change their website prices because customers tell them to.

    • Haha yea quite funny the OP asked them to change the price.

He realises the lost revenue on the 2 bottles he purchased will be recouped from the other hundreds of bottles they sell at the normal price.

Most people do not do their research and just pay the price. Hence why they don't bother changing the price. Unless they have a massive influx of orders then they will do a officeworks and change their price.

      • I was asking the consultant to update the price online so that everyone here could have the same deal

    Price match not a bargain.
This post should be posting the original business.

    • Thanks for editing the subject mate

How’s it stack against courvoisier xo?

    • +1

Down to personal preference and styles.

I’d rank it Remy, Hennessy, Martel, Courvoisier, Camus for Xo
Martel Cordon Blue is a small step above the Remy.

At these levels it’s good quality but preference that rules. I’ve found XO wants to attack you with so many blends and flavours while the cordon blue is complex but refined.

    • If you lovin courvoisier…you will definitely love martell too…my cognacs are martell courvoisier and hennessy

  • Beats the recent 20% Dan's eBay deal ($375 for two, but you only had to buy one).

  • Not sure about cheapest ever. Bought one for $150 at first choice store 2 weeks ago

    • U must be joking…150 for a cordon blue?!? Which 1st choice store?

      • I bought it from Toowong (Brisbane) and they had plenty in stock. They also had chivas mizunara for $50
