I spent a LOT of time reviewing active speakers recently and finally settled on these. They're top quality and come in cloth cases with some little gloves for handling them. They look sensational in black at least but the gloss finish does mean they smudge easily if you're not careful.

Sound quality is fantastically clear and detailed for most music, and I don't hand out praise lightly. Its weakest area would be bouncy pop, I wouldn't get it as a party speaker.

    • where can we read your reviews?

      • I was reviewing for myself, not the world! Wanted to buy something top notch for my desktop PC and eventually settled on these. They're perfect in every way except for bouncy pop, and being on the large side for a desktop.

        • Why not Edifier S2000Pro? They are angled for near field use, these aren't. Or will you angle these with something?

EDIT: I see these do come with foam wedges, that's nice. How would you compare these to Edifier S2000Pro? I am mainly interested in PC gaming, some music and movies. Speakers would be on my desk.

          • @CoolHwip74: You'll need a big desk. Both speakers are large by desktop standards so relish space. I ruled out the S2000Pro as the wooden veneer didn't suit my environment but the reviews are great. I put a huge premium on looks and sound quality so was prepared to sacrifice a lot of space but my dream speaker would have been these but 25% smaller.

              @B3:

but my dream speaker would have been these but 25% smaller.

The Airpulse A80 is coming soon.

Same as A100 but with 4.5-inch woofer & BT 5.0.
Edit: Seems like cabinet size is the same 160 x 283 x 255 mm.

  • Also the price seems very low here compared to what it is retailing for elsewhere in the world. It's 788 pounds on Amazon UK, for example. No idea why this is the case but I'm not complaining.

    • The UK seems to get ripped off on a lot of electronics

  • How does this compare to S2000mkiii ?

    • Better to my ears. Couldn't get an A vs B for you, but this will be close: https://youtu.be/8z3pZTNVt2Q

Put on a good headphone with an amp, or a decent speaker system and you can hear the difference in the recording.

  • So close to the s3000pro ebay price last month, wondering how sound quality compared to it though?

  • Dumb question. I still love my doof doof. What sub would u match with these and what else do I need to run everything

    • Don't know about sub, but you don't need anything else to run these speakers. They are 'active' so have all the necessary internals to just plug them in and use them.

    • I'd also like to know what sort of sub could be connected for doof doof

    • I emailed them about this and they only sell the T5 as a separate sub so they recommended that.
