YouTube Premium Argentine Peso $119 (~A$2.40) Per Month (VPN Required)

5830

It's really simple:

  1. Change your VPN to Argentina
  2. Go to YouTube Premium and sign up. https://www.youtube.com/premium
  3. Takes two seconds to get a local address. https://www.fakeaddressgenerator.com/All_countries/address/c…

The amount will be shown in 119 Argentine Peso
— Equal in July 2020 to $2.42 Australian Dollars

It used to be India we would rely on for this hack, but as Argentina's money printer goes brrr… They're the current new leader.

  • Best if you use a credit card that doesn't have foreign exchange fees.
    — it'll only set you back a few cents if your does.

  • Please post your fave VPNs in the comments
    — Many here use Nord as it was 97% discounted here sometime ago

  • Please let us know if you find a more affordable country.

Worth noting this will fluctuate with the currency conversion.. That'll probably be a good thing as the pLandemic continues to spiral currencies ;)

Thanks, Just joined the premium family plan. Used NordVPN, no issue.

  • +1

Have been paying for Youtube Premium for the whole family for the past year now, and very much worth it. Makes watching YouTube on TV and on the ipads/iphones so much better without the ads.

  • +2

Will I need to also change the country of the Google accounts of all the family members?

    • +2

I am also having issues with this. Anyone?

      • If I understand your question correctly: No.
I didn't change anyone's Google address. We're all in Australia.

  • +1

This is great. Signed up to family. Thanks op.

  • Argentine vs India vs Russia
Price-wise it looks like Russia is double the price.
But is there much difference in Google Play Music content?
    Any other difference?

  • +1

Nice. can't believe I have been watching so much youtube since beginning of this year due to covid and have not seen this..

Best saving time deal ever (in a way)

  • +2

Hmm, getting error OR-CCSEH-05 with multiple cards. Anyone else come across this?

    • Yes I can't work it out either

    • +1

Go to payment screen and before you submit all info, remove the extension and it works

      • Ill try turning off vpn before submission…
        No joy

      • Thanks, this worked for me!

    • +2

Remove any associated location tagged info on your google account.

Go to Manage your Google account -> Personal Info

So for me, my mobile was connected to my account which it recognises it being AU, onced removed it worked.

      • Cheers but no luck

    • +1

i was having the same problem then tried india instead of argentina and it worked! hope this helps

    • Go this on my ING and and cards in Argentina, but worked first time on ING in India.

      • No dice either, maybe because my current subscription is Aussie. Might have to wait until it expires.

    • UPDATE: works with my beyond bank debit card (visa)

  • Can I pay with PayPal ? Is there any charge for it ?

  • I have VPN set to Argentina and the subscription is showing "COP 17,900" month
    thats around $7aud

Edit: Just signed up to India family acc instead

  • +3

    Thanks OP.
I was a bit unsure about using Hola but you can use it to get the price from Argentina, then on the page that opens to input your credit card, you can uninstall the extension and then proceed from there.

    Worked for me, at least.

India family plan AUD3.63 I don't see any huge difference

  • how to get local address?

    • +1

Google: Hotel in Buenos Aires. They all list addresses.

  • If you use android then save even more money and use vanced to avoid ad's for FREE!!

    • +1

Does it work with Google Home? ;)

      • It's an android app so unfortunately not.

        • This is why you subscribe to yt premium.

          • @PissLUR: quite a few more reasons than that.
ads being no1. reason though which is what my comment was related to.

  • Hi all…Youtube Premium Family….

Do all of those in the group HAVE to live at the same address?

    • -1

Nope. Just send them an invite link and thats it.

      • +1

I get this "Trouble joining family group
Looks like you're in a different country than the family manager."

        • +1

Try to fill up all the family member spots before you switch to India/Russia/Argentina, just create new Google account if you don't have enough family members. It's better than to invite family member after switch the sub to foreign countries.

          • @jayzee: I just have the single YouTube membership. Is there any ways I could add more members then?

            • @Lone star: You need to sing up to family plan which allows you to add five more members, probably you need to cancel the single membership first.

        • Try adding them from the email while connected to vpn

  • Any advantages to YT Premium if I'm already using a ad blocker for ads?

    • +1

Can use yt on a any other devices without those annoying ads, if you just use you laptop/PC to watch yt then may be this is not for you though. Not to mention Youtube music and Youtube original contents.

    • Both my kids got Google Nest Hub in their rooms. Please let me know how I could install add blocker on their Google Nest Hubs.

  • Tunnel Bear free VPN app worked for me signing up for India version.

  • Hey OP, any deals on Google Drive?

    • Yeah, check out ebay or it's a bit of a hassle.
To get unlimited you need to create a student email address at some uni then apply then link it back etc…

Worth a google but lots of effort.

  • My vpn is set to argentina and youtube is set to argentina but it is still asking for 11.99 euros

Is there anything else that needs to be done to get it to show the argentinian price?

    • +2

I saw the same thing - are you using Surfshark? If I went to google.com it actually shows the location as Netherlands. Surfshark marks Argentina as a virtual location I suspect that's why. If I tried with India I get the price quoted in rupees. A solution is to use another VPN, some comments above mentioned this issue/solution.

  • +1

    Thanks op

Would rather switch to Latin America, sick of the Indian music recommendations

  • -1

Can I ask how can I change VpN argentina
    Thank you

  • +2

Thanks - hadn't changed from Turkey subscruption from a while back…..

    cancelled current subscription,
Changed VPN connection (expressVPN) to Argentina,
    Logged into Youtube premium
    re-subscribed via Argentina
    happy days at lower costs!

    Thanks OP!

    • +1

Did you keep all your playlists, subscriptions etc?

      • +2

yep - seems to have stuck and kep them.

Kept my existing family set up too

        • +1

"Kept my existing family set up too"

          Oh that's good to hear

  • +2

Thanks OP. Got a free 1 month trial on Argentina, so no billing until 12 August. I've had a free trial before in Australia too, but it was quite a while ago now…surprised it offered me another.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know how much a standard, non family subscription is in Indonesia? PIA doesn't have an Indonesian server and the few 'free' ones I tried were either scammy or didn't work.

    • Never mind, I found it. Rp. 59,000 per month.

  • +1

so does youtube premium automatically include youtube music? seems to?

i changed from Argentina individual to Argentina family, anything i need to watch out for?

  • +2

If you're a student (.edu / .edu.au email), it's still cheaper to VPN into India (79INR = ~$1.60 AUD) compared to this deal.

    • Nice. Where are people getting (illegitimate) .edu addresses these days?

  • +1

I love using VPNs to get lower prices. Sticking it to the man.

  • +1

Last checked, paid $AUD3.67 for indian family plan at Citi debit card.

  • Does anyone know if you get t funded the remaining monthly fees, just paid not long ago.
    Cheers

  • I'll give this a go for a month for free and then maybe ditch Spotify. Athough, I am only paying $5.99 with spotify student.

  • +1

179 Argentine peso is the same is 190 Indian rupee - so the cost is the same for family plan

  • +1

for anyone considering this i finally bit the bullet.
I got tunnelbear free, made account. turned it on set to India
went to my own existing youtube, yes i want premium, paid with my card, used address as generated above
    done immediately.
whole process took under ten minutes for immediate effect and now i sit back and use my google home stuff without being yelled at and given a mile long playlist alternative.

havent seen any side effects or problems as yet :)

    • +1

No dramas so far. Regular bank card took ~3.70

      Should done it months ago.

  • +1

Signing up to Youtube Premium through the Indian VPN was the best decision I've ever made. I watch significantly more YouTube than any other streaming service and have had precisely 0 issues. Highly recommend

    • +2

another good one is the netflix turkey.

      • +1

        Great at Thanksgiving!

      • I have been trying to get Netflix Turkey, but NF won't accept any of my cards.
        How are you paying?

        • hsbc credit card working for me

  • I have an India singles account - is it easy to switch it over to family?

  • +1

Ok, so signed up using VPN for India. Used my normal email account and all good.
Now when I try and add family members it’s saying they’re in the wrong country.
I’ve tried adding them using a VPN and not using a VPN. I’ve deleted and resent invites… any ideas?? Thanks

As the OP, this was my first post.
Proud moment being able to give back to those who have served before me
(Even if I had to hack the url as it wouldn't allow a first timer to post a Youtube link haha)

You have been awarded Popular Deal with this post

You have been awarded First Post Wonder with this post

I would like to take this moment to thank my cat, Bubbles who passed about 11 years ago for her support.

  • Mine is a Ukraine account, about AU$6.00 per month.
Is it a simple process to cancel that YT Premium subscription and re-start on this Arg one?
    Any tips?
    cheers.

    • +1

      Totally.
Cancel then resub as above when your month expires.

      • Yep, done it. Thanks for the post and the reply.

  • I can't seem to get this until my current YouTube Premium service billed through iTunes expires in two weeks

  • how can i set up the family account? when my wife accepts the invite it says "Looks like you're in a different country than the family manager."

    help pls :|

    • +1

Your countries in Google Play need to match up

      • how do i make this change? i cant seem to find the option to change this.

EDIT - the payment profile for both accounts are in Australia.

    • Check my post below. I had everyone in the family account setup prior the subscription.

      • i followed your steps but im still benefiting until the ending cycle. Still not able to add other accounts to join the family plan.

    • +2

OK so i managed to add other accounts into the family by first removing the google pay on the main account holders name that uses Argentina as main address. Then add the other accounts. Then i resubscribe to YT premium.

      • +1

I spent a fair amount of time fiddling with this + googling to see what the "solution" was. I've got a reasonably spread out family in a few countries so figuring this out was very relevant to me.

        Here's the detail:

        • What determines whether you can add someone to your Google family is whether their Google Pay/Play Store profile is the same country as your Google Pay/Play Store profile
        • You can see your Google Pay profiles at pay.google.com (you can have multiple)
        • Even if you have more than one Google Pay profile in various countries, only one Google Pay profile's country is recognised (see active country in Play Store - Account), and I think it's the first one that you activate from having 0 Google Pay profiles
        • I had to delete all existing payment profiles (pay.google.com) from the host account until I had 0 Google Pay profiles, then re-create my desired country as the country that matched that of my family members
        • Even if you subsequently re-create a new Google Pay profile in a second country and attempt to add other family members whose Pay profile is in this country, it will not work because the subsequent family member's Pay profile country does not match your "first" (after deletion) active Pay profile
        • Deleting the Argentina Google Pay profile resulted in cancellation of the YouTube premium subscription
        • When attempting to re-subscribe, my same payment method kept failing. Trying other cards also resulted in failures
        • In my mind, the most logical solution was to restore my old Argentina Pay Profile, which can be done within 30 days - so I initiated a chat to have this restored.
        • The failed re-subscription re-created a new Argentina Pay Profile, so I deleted this as I had successfully restored my old Pay Profile which had my preferred payment method saved
        • I again attempted to re-subscribe, and successfully did so through my old pay profile!
        • Most of this was done on PC, except for checking the active Play Store country
        • AFAIK, VPN is only needed for the subscription step (by the host). All the other steps, including deleting/amending pay profiles, inviting family members and accepting invitations doesn't require VPN.

TLDR: All family members must have the same Google Pay/Play Store country (same thing). If a member has more than one Google Pay profile, it takes their first profile as their country. If you delete all the profiles and re-create a profile, the first profile will become their designated Pay profile country. You can check the country in Play Store - Account.

  • Done, cancelled original sub,
    AR worked fine..
Was probably going to cancel anyway and use Tidal instead of GPMusic

  • Can you get a yearly sub for YT?

  • +2

Thank you for this great deal. For anyone who has a family account with issues this is what I did and it’s working fine.

I already had a YouTube premium account in Australia. I had all the members already added to the account.

I cancelled the Australian subscription, connected via VPN to Argentina and joined the family plan.

When I first clicked on Family Plan i was presented with all the members in my family would would be part of the subscription. I clicked continue and paid for the subscription

I did not make any changes to my addresses in my google account. I entered an Argentina address during the sign up process.

  • +1

It all depends on the currency at the time YouTube deduct the payment. This is what I can see on my mobile currently.

    Indian YT premium
    Single : 129 I Rupee ~ 2.47 AUD
    Family : 189 I Rupee ~ 3.61 AUD

    Argentinian YT premium
    Single : 119 A Peso ~ 2.41 AUD
    Family : 179 A Peso ~ 3.62 AUD

I plan to sign up a family plan on my last day (31/07/20) of my current single plan. Lets see if any other countries can beat these 2… hihi

  • +1

I'm guessing this works for Spotify too, are you able to change an existing Spotify Account set-up in AU with family members to Argentina with everyone keeping their playlists etc?

  • Hi OP and everyone. I will soon deactivate my single account and create a family account using VPN. Does anyone know when I add family members, would those emails be made from "same" country I sign up or not?

    • Lots of comments on this above Lone'

  • +1

    Thanks OP!

Can't seem to add payment details anyone?

Tried my ING Orange debit and the Latitude 28

Got the error message: Request failed. Something went wrong. Learn more about how to check your payment method information or add a new payment method to your Google Account. [OR-CCSEH-05]

    • Got the same error too, I tried various cards and none worked

    • +1

Am also getting the same error :( Tried ING, 28degrees, Citibank & CBA cards - none worked.

    • Update: I have disabled location on my phone, also disabled location activities in Google account management. And it worked. I used Hola extension on Chrome.

  • how do you upgrade from individual to family plan?

    • cancel and resubscribe

  • What VPN everyone is using? I have surfshark and it's not working for Argentina. Windscribe Pro is very slow on Argentina and I could not even load the payment page.

    • +1

      Nord worked for me.

      • Any free ones that worked? Dont want to pay another VPN when I already bought Surfshark and Windscribe Pro…

        • +2

Hola VPN Proxy Chrome Extension is free and seemed to work well

          • @spikiii: Hola worked for me too, they mine your data (read the agreement) so best to use it on a new browser install if you care.
