YouTube Premium Argentine Peso $119 (~A$2.40) Per Month (VPN Required)

5830

It's really simple:

  1. Change your VPN to Argentina
  2. Go to YouTube Premium and sign up. https://www.youtube.com/premium
  3. Takes two seconds to get a local address. https://www.fakeaddressgenerator.com/All_countries/address/c…

The amount will be shown in 119 Argentine Peso
— Equal in July 2020 to $2.42 Australian Dollars

It used to be India we would rely on for this hack, but as Argentina's money printer goes brrr… They're the current new leader.

  • Best if you use a credit card that doesn't have foreign exchange fees.
    — it'll only set you back a few cents if your does.

  • Please post your fave VPNs in the comments
    — Many here use Nord as it was 97% discounted here sometime ago

  • Please let us know if you find a more affordable country.

Worth noting this will fluctuate with the currency conversion.. That'll probably be a good thing as the pLandemic continues to spiral currencies ;)

        • You could always sign up to a free trial with Nord.

  • Thanks @HiDave

I signup a new account for this. Best deal I ever used.

  • should I wait until the end of this month to switch from India to Argentina

  • Going to try this soon. Thanks

  • Thanks. Migrated my Family account over. First purchase and use of a VPN too :-)

  • Haven't been able to do this for Spotify family, seems a lot more complicated as when i went to checkout in Spotify (in argentinian) final step after credit card asked for a document ID, does anybody know what that is?

  • Is there any free VPN that i can use for Argentina?

    • +2

Yeah use the 'Hola' extension on Chrome. Working well so far…

  • I'm paying 1.56 AUD month for indian student membership!

  • Thanks OP. I was able to follow the instructions and sign up to Argentina and Family Plan for Youtube.

  • Still don't get what makes this deal better than Indian https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/528651
    129 INR = 123 peso, just 4 peso ($0.08) more expensive. 8cents/month savings??

I see peso is getting cheaper over time, but not worth for me to play with VPN moving each family plan member to Argentina.

    • Every cent adds up…..

    • Seems like only the host needs to be the one to fiddle with VPN - the family members shouldn't have to

The Argentinian peso has continued to weaken so this is even cheaper lol

Done it. Used Hola VPN android app. Fingers crossed the Arg peso doesn't bounce back before the end of the free trial period (I guess if it does, I can just cancel, and redo it with the next best currency).

    • For some reason it's showing up in Euros for me, not Arg Pesos..

    • +1

@wisdomtooth how was your sub using Hola? Did that work fine at the end of the free trial period?

      • It failed but not bc of Hola—that was done and dusted—rather bc I forgot to enable payments in Argentina on my cc. Immediately solved by adding my Up account instead.

        • +1

@wisdomtooth nice one mate. Hoping to try that with Netflix & Spotify too - But CBA cards won't work, so will probably try an up account.

  • Is this still working?
It only shows me the normal Australian membership rates.
I have changed my address profile to India and that did not work.
I have used 3 Indian IPs and not worked?

    • +1

It's still working, maybe change your VPN, I succeeded with NordVPN

  • why YouTube take substantially longer to load after I signed up as Argentina premium?
    how to fix it?

    • +2

Remember to turn off VPN after you have done the payment. You do not need the VPN running after.

  • Has anyone had their YT becoming super slow (e.g. when loading videos)? I've only started having this problem over the past 2-3 weeks, around the same time I switched to this deal.

I'm pretty sure it's not the internet as well as all other sites are loading fine.

    • Are you connected to Argentina VPNs?

      • +1

        No, not using any VPNs.

  • +2

Still working. And no issues with slow downs as some reporting. Now no ads on PC nor smart TV. (ads got annoying when they started to appear on the youtube app on smart TV when doing exercise-along workout vids). Tunnel bear free worked.

  • Anyone got any tips for the invited family members saying they are in the wrong country?

    • Got the same issue.. did you work around this?

      • +1

Yeah I had the same issue too.

A lot of faffing about but I think I got there in the end.

        I used my android phone.

Open up your VPN of choice (I used ExpressVPN) and set to Argentina.

Use the following to generate a random Argentinian residential address: https://www.fakeaddressgenerator.com/All_countries/address/c…

Remember the address to use it for your family members (not sure this makes a difference but might as well).

I used my second account as the Argentinian family manager.

Open the Google Play Store, change to your second account, tap on the top left menu, tap on 'Account', scroll to the bottom where you will see 'Country and profiles', add a credit card and then you can change country to Argentina with your randomly generated address (remember that your VPN should still be connected throughout this process).

Sign up for the Argentinian family plan on the second account.

Cancel the main account family plan and delete the family group.

Repeat the "change country" step for the main account and family members. They will all need to use a VPN in order to change countries.

Use the second account to send invites to the main account and family members.

The main account and family members should now be able to join the Argentinian family group via the invite.

        Disconnect VPN.

This link helped me figure out what the problems were.

        • I posted about my experience which also required a crap load of faffing about.

Basically, as long as all family members have a Google Pay/Play Store profile of the same country, then you're sweet.

Also - family members aren't required to put in an address at all. At least mine didn't. Just send the link, they click and join - no requirement to enter any address whatsoever.

  • Finally moved the whole family over to Argentina.

One thing I've noticed is missing is the ability to select genre from "New releases". Has also else noticed this?

    • did you have to change everyone's address to Argentina?

  • Has anyone previously had their whole family with an Aus family google music sub?
I cancelled our sub, and our spotify freebie is almost up, so looking to get a youtube music family sub via India or Argentina as many others have done.
Can I create a new user for the vpn family sub, and invite them into my existing (Aus) family?
Or do I need my own (primary) account to sign up directly via vpn?
ie Family of 4 (2A + 2K) with expired Aus family sub. Can my cat sign up for vpn family sub?
    Thanks,

  • Deal is still working. Works best if you let the free trial lapse then renew.

  • Has anyone tried to change country back to Australia after signed up family subscription? Will this affect the price of subscription?

    • No, it doesn't affect the subscription currency/price

  • Just subscribed through Argentina using 28Degrees, but upon inviting the family member, it keeps asking for CVC number?
Does anyone else has similar issue? Tried with VPN still on and off but the issue remains

  • Can you use google play credit to pay for YT premium? I got about $200 in google play gift cards.

  • Totally off topic but what are the other popular services we can get by changing our location in VPN. Particularly looking for LinkedIn Learning. Exhausted the free trials.

  • You can use a free proxy server instead VPN

Is YouTube premium ARG going to see the extra cost/taxes that things like Netflix ARG are now seeing?

    • +2

Each billing period so far we have not seen any extra charge. Last we have 12th Oct 179.00AR = AUD3.27. YMMV.

  • +1

    The deal is still working.
    Used Hola VPN Chrome Extension.
    Done. 27th Oct 179.00AR = AUD3.22.

    What a cracking deal!

Just used PIA (Private internet access) to sign up to Youtube with Indian VPN (Argentinian server was on the blink)

  • Just signed up, thanks everyone.

Hopefully my recommendations won't change too drastically.

  • Can we pay annually? Or does it have to be monthly?

  • when signing up the CC is added with the argentina billing adress. is it ok to add a secondary payment card with the correct billing address to use as payment instead?
