Aus Post Delivered to Incorrect Address

I had placed an order for a stroller and requested it to be delivered to a parcel locker address. I had noticed that the delivery has completed to a different parcel address as given below.

Parcel Locker location
MELB NORTH VAN OPERATIONS
50-70 STANLEY DRIVE
SOMERTON VIC 3062

As any faced similar issues and how to get back my item from Aus post?

I think he needs to update his username…

Maybe it doesn't fit in a locker.
    What is the weight/dimensions?

    Under 39 x 36 x 64cm, and weighing up to 16kg should be OK

Maybe it doesn't fit in a locker.

It would have been taken to a post office & the OP would have received an email and text stating where it can be picked up from

I had a parcel to be sent to an Australia Post, checked the online account and address was all correct.

Got a message from Australia Post later that they "couldn't find the address". The fact they couldn't find their own post office made me laugh.

Anyways one message to support and they found it in the end.

You mean you didn't ask Ozbargain first?! Inconceivable!

    Calling Captain Obvious.

Contact the seller and get them to sort your delivery issues.

  • +4

    I found contacting them helps

    • I have reached out to Aus post contact centre. I am waiting for feedback.

  • +8

Good thing you made a ozb post, instead of contacting the very people who have access and can actually do anything about it.

Thank you for contacting OzBargain, Australia's preferred method of dispute resolution. Australia Post representatives regularly scan the forum posts at OzBargain and they will be in contact with you shortly to resolve this matter.

I just asked our Postie Van driver doing his daily pick up.
He said it means it is still in transit and has not made it to the final locker destination give it a day or so.

    • Thank you, Let me wait for a day.

  • +2

It will probably be taken to a local post office as the item will be too big to fit in the locker and you'll have to manually look for it as it might not get scanned in at the post office like my items.

  • What delivery service did the online seller offer?

Only AusPost or StarTrack can deliver to a parcel locker.

  • Just go pick it up?

    • I believe the above address is a Aus post warehouse or parcel sorting centre. I am waiting for feedback from Aus post.

      • If the tracking says parcel awaiting collection at that address, then your parcel is awaiting collection at that address.
Pick up normally during business hours

        • It says parcel has been delivered to the below address which is different from requested parcel address.

That's right it is still going through the sorting centre. Just wait and see what happens. We send over 10,000 parcels a year and this issue pops up every once in a while.

        • Sounds similar to when Auspost started handing off small parcels to the bike postie to deliver. Tracking would say it was delivered even though it wasn't yet.

They changed that though, must have gotten too many enquiries.

  • I had an eBay order delivered to a completely different state.

Contacted seller who refunded me and said they'd deal with Auspost.

you should post a screenshot of the tracking link page

this has happened to me before as the parcel was too big to fit into a locker. go pick it up - you know where it is. hopefully thats not too far away from you

    • Thanks. I will go that location.

  • At the start of 'Rona one of my parcels was accidentally placed in another parcel locker ~30km away. Contact centre was able to arrange its collection and redelivery to the correct spot within 2 days.

Apparently parcel locker addresses can occasionally muck up the sorting system (nearly all Auspost sorting IDs are location based, whereas this is customer-linked). There was a nice handwritten apology on the parcel to boot.

Aus post was able to trace the location of the parcel (my local post office). Thank you all

  • We had parcel get delivered to wrong address, after we called AP they sent a photo of it on someone elses doorstep.

After we confirmed our doorstep looked nothing like their photo they apologised, but thats all.
