  • I've been waiting for another s5 max deal. Thanks ok

  • Not sure if I should trust tobydeals.
Seen pretty bad reviews with the site.
Anyone had any experience with them?

    https://au.trustpilot.com/review/tobydeals.com

    • Mixed reviews from Ozbargainers too but seems like they will refund if there’s any issues by what I have read: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/545331

      • they'll only refund you if you fight them for it. i had an issue with a smartphone gimbal i bought from them, turned out to be a dud… they wouldn't refund me saying they couldn't find any fault even though i sent them multiple images, videos and descriptions of the fault. they blatantly disregarded them and said they'd take it back but charge me a restocking fee. I had to get paypal involved eventually.

    • I have got the same question. However, I've found another set of reviews.
      https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/toby-deals

Is there a chance that the product may not be genuine?

    • I bought a smart watch from them and it took over 2 months to show up and they didn't respond to any emails. At least I got the watch though, but don't expect anything in a hurry.

    • I bought 3 Xiaomi Mi Box S's from them in August last year. Arrived promptly, though I did choose DHL express I think.
So my experience with them was good.

  • Usually if there is PayPal I’m more willing to take a punt.

  • How does the warranty work given it's a gray import? Does it have some sort of international warranty or we are on our own?

    • Forget about warranty. If. You want that buy from roborock

      • Roborock website is selling at $850 now on sale.

        • There is a big difference!

    • According to their website, they service AU & NZ. They will organise a courier pickup from you if it’s truely a warranty issue.

      • It's not a Australian registered business. You have zero ACL rights. Your only option in thr fight is having PayPal refund you. They wont do that either without seeing attempts and providing evidence and proving your side. I know what I was getting into buy grey and accept it but you have questions and worries about warranty this isn't the one for you if you want that assurance at the expense of a harder wallet hit

  • +1

Correct. U will have to pay a higher price for local stock but reap the warranty benefits Or risk it at a lower price with 50/50 warranty

  • I bought this from them on the last deal. It took about 2 weeks to turn up. It ships direct from Hong Kong and is Australian Stock (that means they throw an Aus plug adapter in the box).
I much prefer the S5Max over the new version of the S6. The mop/water thing is better.
I'm really impressed with this thing - it works well - way better than expected and makes my old Samsung robot vacuum look pathetic.
I ordered a bunch of spare parts off ebay as well (also turned up from Hong Kong), new brushes, mop mats, wheels and filters. They were cheap and commonly available which also makes this brand more appealing to me.

I'm in a 3 level house, it has mapped out each level, invisible walls, where the carpets are (to not mop), divided into rooms and zones so it goes and cleans by section… the software is really good!
But the simple things are important… it doesn't get itself stuck like my old one, it automatically adjusts the vacuum strength/style as it goes from carpet to hard flooring, it's easier to empty the bin, I can tell it to go clean up a spill area more easily, it actually manages to return to base without getting lost. But all up it just cleans really really well.

I don't often give such good feedback - but this thing actually is good enough to replace my real vacuum. Not quite on the mop, but it's mop still leaves a shinier floor. I run a full floor vacuum cycle and then a mop and the results are pretty good.

    • Great review Steve! Makes me feel better after I ordered one. lol

  • How have people's orders gone? Dispatched? Delivered?

    • Mine has been despatched. With the limited planes coming to Perth, might need to wait for a while. :(

      • Mine arrived in Port Mel today

        • Wow. When did you ordered? Mine was sent out on the 17 Jul. Still waiting. :(
Tried tracking on DPEX website and it still says "In Transit to Destination".

          • @RudeNeigh: Well I ordered before this deal back on the 30th, I had to wait for them to get a shipment, wish I cancelled since I paid about $40 more but meh and it was dispatched on the 16th.

Use toll tracking for a more info and a tracking map

            • @DoesntEvenMatter: I also paid $36 more for priority shipping. They ship it out the next day. still waiting… :(

              • @RudeNeigh: Did you have any movement on your package?

Toll tells me it went "Linehaul to destination depot: overnight" which I believe means it went on a plane out of Hong Kong on the 28th July.

Nothing updated to tell me it made it to the Sydney Depot however, and it's been a week since then.

                • @Abaddon: yes I received my package on 29 Jul! the tracking got updated on the 29 Jul and next thing I know, the Toll Priority delivery guy has in front of my house! Took about two weeks and this is priority service.

                  • @RudeNeigh: Mine came as well, was also around two weeks. Only paid for the regular shipping, so that's good to know for next time.
