Robot Vacuum Recommendations - Kogan?

Hey guys.

My Deebot 600 side wheel isn't spinning and looks like I need to buy a new one. I'm not a tinkerer and lack any handy common sense so I don't think I'd be able to fix it myself.

Has anybody bought this one? Would appreciate real reviews or maybe other recs in the $250 range.

Thanks!

  • Xiaomi Mi Robot gen 1. It'll be two years with it come September and after daily use on carpet, it's worked a dream. I have two other friends with it and one has even put their infant son on it and it would still work.

It is a bit out of your price range as the cheapest it has been is $279.65 and it usually hovers around $310-330.

Don't really have any experience with your type of robot vacuum, but work had a roomba that died within three months and did a poor job vacuuming. At the beginning I would still dyson vacuum once a week after the robovacuum vacuums daily and realised that the robovacuum would suffice. Granted we have no pets and it's just myself and the missus living in and apartment.

    • I have been waiting for ages for it to drop to that $280 price…

  • The Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum 1C is within your budget. You may have to fork out an extra $50 or so but it would be well worth it. It is a proven robot vacuum from a brand where most users only have good things to say. On the other hand Kogan? Before parting with your hard earned money just search the keyword 'Kogan' here and you would know.

  • Thanks for your recommendation. I am a Xiaomi fan. I have owned a Xiaomi phone in the past but have not tried their other gadgets. I'll look into this one, I mostly use it for tiles and floorboards. My deebot didn't vacuum carpets very well. If Xiaomi can do both carpets and hard floors, that'd be great. I have two big dogs and there's a lot of shedding. The reason I was looking at Kogan, besides from their low prices, is their warranty. They have been great with replacements in the past. When my airfryer timer stopped working they sent me a newer model after just two emails.

    • +1

I'll correct myself and say that the carpet I had at the apartment was short and handled that really well. My parents' carpet is a bit thicker and I think that triggers the vacuum to sometimes stop as it thinks it's caught on something, but you can bypass it and tell it to keep vacuuming on.

  • Has anyone tried the Kogan R10? Bought it on sale for $79.99 with free shipping and used the Citibank $20 voucher. Wanted to try a robot but haven't unboxed it yet. I have wood parquetry floors and no pets. Seemed to have OK reviews.
