  • Good to Buy!! But I don't need a TV, my home is too small!
I will buy the TV and get the phone and then sold the TV at $1800, so the phone will cost me $199?!
    Will it work?

    • Yes if you find anyone who want to buy the TV only!
I think it would be much easier to sell the phone than the TV.
The phone cost about $6x0-7xx outright! Seems to be a very good deal even you just need the TV!

  • +6

Only if i didn't buy my SGS II outright!! OMFG!!

  • one thing tho, not sure if they have resolved the "ghosting/cross-talk" issue with 3D content…

  • +3

For WA only? It's $2399 in VIC catalogue.

    • it didnt mention WA only in the catalogue i received

    • It's $2399 in the SA catalogue too.

      • as applewei mentioned, it's different model. $2399 for UA55D6600WM, $1999 for UA55D6000SM

        • The T&Cs say its only valid for UA55D6600WM

    • Its weird, the VIC catalogue definitely says $2399 on that page, page looks the same other than that.

In the T&C's the offer is valid for all states, it just the price is out of whack.
      http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/cons/groups/public/documents/b…

    • I can confirm that too. =)

    • it's that price in NSW too! that's not fair, why do NSW customers pay more? for the same thing! how rigged.

Its a series 6 tv though.. dont they have series 8 or 9 out now?

I dont know if theres much different in the new series though. Good deal

    • -6

thats what I notice also, this are old stocks ( it should have been series 8 or 9 )

the free phone is a deal but not the tv

      • +9

You guys have NO idea what you're talking about. This TV is a 2011 series 6 LED. The series does NOT represent the age of the TV.

        • +1

yep, kheob is right, when i bought my series 7 LED, my friend told me series 6 newer ones

        • +1

The D in the model number tells us that it's a 2011 TV. If it were a C, it would be 2010, and so on.

        • +1 this… Series 6 means it has the Linux back end that lets you watch video files natively and via DLNA

          I have a older Series 6… it rocks…

        • Well can someone tell us the differences between the 6,7 and 9. The samsung website doesnt have any clear differences apart from the refresh rate.

        • +1

The differences vary from model to model, but as a general rule of thumb, the higher the series number the better the TV.

    • can anyone confirm how old the model is…?

        • +6

No (see above). Stop providing false information.

      • If it has a D in the model then it's 2011. C is 2010 model. I have a d8000 plasma. Meaning you have Bluetooth 3D glasses and not infrared like the 2010 models.

  • Pay less Pay cash!!! (so less than $1999)

    • It'll be like $1 less for cash if you are lucky LOL.

      • hahaha you have $1 coin to chuck in the wish fountain

  • Couple this with the $50 voucher from yesterday and it's an amazing deal.

  • Just had a look at the claim link: http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/mtgravatt/store/BonusOfferList…

The terms and conditions say that it needs to be Samsung Full HD 3D LCD TV UA55D6600WM at participating stores in NSW, SA, ACT, QLD, NT & VIC
    http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/cons/groups/public/documents/b…

The UA55D6600WM is actually $2399 on their website lol

  • Could you also use the $50 off voucher from the other day?

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/55157

    • Yes, you can.

  • +2

It is different model in Terms and Condition
    http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/cons/groups/public/documents/b…
    which is UA55D6600WM only
    Above catalogue listed UA55D6000SM

    • Yeah something a bit odd happening there. Considering its a good guys WA catalogue and WA can't claim for the phone AND they're passing off the wrong model as well. Pays to read the T's & C's before jumping the gun.

      • +2

Maybe they forgot to edit out the 'free SGS2' banner.

  • +1

So which model is newer? Anyone got some clues??
So tempted to get this coz of the sgs2. The tv……dont knkwwhere i can put it,but maybe replace my lg 42 inch i guess.

  • Maybe WA has different T&Cs? I can't find any reference to the bonus on WA websites, only the catalogue. So maybe the $1999 model is an offer for WA only, certainly going off the catalogue, you should be good to go (in WA)

    • I'm looking at the Osborne Park store website and the same T's & C's are linked.

    • Maybe try to call the stores to confirm?

    • +1

On the below webpage, instruction talks about Western Australia while terms and condition link talks about other states.

      http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/dandenong/store/BonusOfferList…

UA55D6600WM is only for NSW, SA, ACT, QLD, NT & VIC
      UA55D6000SM is only for WA

  • ask them to include the MHL adapter and you have a h.264 media centre right there

  • +1

Here are the T&Cs for WA: http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/cons/groups/public/documents/b…

So it looks like there is no mistake. Only WA can get this deal, unfortunately.

  • +1

Called my local Good Guys (QLD):

    The PDF specifically states UA55D6000SM.
After calling my Good Guys it was advised that this model is NOT eligible for this promotion at this store, only the UA55D6600WM which is $2399 (and i was quoted quickly over the phone that they could do $2300…)

This pricing of $1999 may be valid for WA only, suggest someone in WA call their local Good Guys to confirm.

If it was valid for QLD as well i'd be in my car driving down now.
    Disappointing.

Is this full hd tv? And u can baragain good guys right?

  • I think SG S3 might be coming out soon so we could see a few of these offers

I am tossing up a galaxy or iphone 4s, and also want to buy a new TV and leaning towards samsung plasma $799.. but damn we are seeing some good deals lately.

    • SG 2 Came out 4 months ago ! However BIG things are happening soon (check tommrow) !

      • WOOT GO THE PRIME!!!
Better be a 8MP camera and not a 5 like the rumours are saying.

        • AMEN, although for my S2 sake I hope it's a 5MP ;)

        • well if its a 5 then i definately wont get it, I want a phone that completely trumps the iphone 4s.

  • If anyone wants this deal for the TV but does not want the S2, please let me know and we'll work something out.

    I only want the phone.

  • i just called an ACT good guys and the deal is:

    $1999 - UA55D6000SM chance to win GS2
    $2399 - UA55D6600WM comes with a GS2

    • thats not what the posted pic says

    • I think you are refering to this Footy Finals competition which has expired 2 weeks ago!
      http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/cons/groups/public/documents/b…

      • how can i be reffering to anything when i spoke to a sale person at a store….he may have past the wrong info to me….

  • Good deal you can sell S2 and get some money back

  • God offer for Perth, the phone can be claimed only in WA state :(

    http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/cons/groups/public/documents/b…

  • Great deal. Thanks for sharing.

  • anyway,a good deal.

  • FYI, the difference between 6000SM ($1999-WA) and the 6600WM ($2399-most other states) seems that the latter is a 400Hz TV, and the former is 200Hz. Power consumption between the two is negligible.
Based on RRP on Samsung AU, the 6600WM is a bigger saving (>$1000 off RRP) than the 6000SM ($800 off RRP).

Perhaps the title should include the 2399 sale for eastern states (or new post)? I've been waiting for these redemption sales..Samsung has thrown the gauntlet..hoping sony has a tablet or PS3 giveaway, and others too…

    • true i will edit it now cheers mate

  • I just purchased this TV (UA55D6000SM) and can confirm that this particular promotion is completely legitimate and is applicable only to WA customers.

If you attempt to make a claim through their online redemption form and get knocked back, call them up. They've admitted that there's confusion in the head office, since this offer is running alongside the non-WA offer (UA55D6600WM), and the online form currently only takes claims for the non-WA offer.

    • would be nice if you give it a +ve :)

  • yes good deal .. but are you guys forgetting that 3d glasses for this should be Active one and it cost some cash. I heard it was around $100

Correct me if I am wrong

    • There's one SSG-3100GB in the box. You can get more online for around $40-50 a pop.

  • +1

Hi guys a quick heads up, went to GG in Osbourne Park today, and one of the guys showed me the conditions apply for the Galaxy:
    1) Once u purchase the tv you have to send a form for the Galaxy, the phone will not be given to you from the GG store.
    2) It will take up to the 22 Dec 2011 to have this phone delivered…thinking that Nexus Prime has been launched today in Hong Kong I would guess the price of the Galaxy will drop quite a bit by December…just my 5c thoughts!

  • Why a 60 inch plasma is about $1000—1300, When this 55 inch LCD is 2300-600=1700? all full HD
    Is LCD better than Plasma?

    • This deal is for an LED LCD

    • Call it hype or the lower energy consumption. Plasma is cheaper only because it is considered older and cheaper to make. Just like traditional LCD is cheaper than led LCD. But plasma have just as good ow than LCD if not better. But plasma is much better for a darker movie like environment than LCD while LCD is more of a all rounder TV

  • Good price for us West Aussies, specially when you throw in the $50 evoucher which can only be redeemed from the Belmont store. Hence, I went to goodguys Cannington (Better traveling 10km to there then 20km plus traffic to Belmont in my fuel guzzler), showed my evoucher and asked did he want my business? The result was $60 taken off-a bargain for $1,939

  • Wow its hard to find a review of thins product.

Also silly question, the S II is unlocked isn't it?

    • The S II is coming straight from Samsung, so one would presume that it's unlocked.

  • Then guys what would you go for? 64" Plasma FullHD 3D or 55" LED FullHD 3D?
I'm not looking for power consumption just performance…any input is appreciated.

    • If you have natural sunlight in the room and you watch TV during the day, LED…

If it is a completely dark room, plasma…

  • For mine I'd prefer the 60" 60UAD6600 for $2660 or whatever from Bing Lee - no free phone though :(
